Do you brake stall at the track? If so, what RPM do you brake stall to?

Is brake stalling bad? I know its bad for the stock trans (if you hold the rpms too high) but when I say bad, I mean does it hurt the timing?

I've been brake stalling at the track to 1500 RPM's all the time but I am afraid that I may be pulling some timing out. I heard that it does it. So I am now worried.

I've never heard of it affecting timing before....

Stalling up a stock converter (may help) but is not really effective since most stock convertors stall at around 1800 RPM give or take. I think the HEMI is a little higher. you'll just have to try Stalling it up some might be effective to a point. Just gotta keep trying different ones at the track and see where is best. Watch for a trans temp light though.

I was going to say I didn't think 1500 RPM was enough to lock the converter... I was thinking somewhere closer to 2K.

You don't want the convertor to lock you want it to slip in a sense so that the engine spins up. You only want the convertor to lock when you are at a 1 to 1 gear ratio or lower than one.
