could be tstat, clogged radiator, old coolant. I would test the coolant first...then go from there

Still try the coolant 1st then work your way up.

yeah....if you had junk and dirt coming out of it...its not cooling properly. You could try a flush and refill if you want to go cheap

Just get a four core aluminum radiator and call it a day. You can run water in the summer and have better cooling then coolant/water mix. Add some conditioners to the water and call it a day number 2.

my vote goes to new radiator, had one replaced on the WJ, last year or two and temp seems steady not. Check the weep hole too on the pump, that could tell you if its bad, there will be coolant coming out of it. i had one take a shit in the starbucks drive thru once, not fun.. (and $800 at the dealer)

Spend $200 and buy an CSF triple core all metal radiator. Made a huge difference in my XJ, and btw, i noticed no difference when i put a flowcooler H20 pump in it, I was very disappointed.
I got mine here at 1800 radiators. Just click GC radiators and it will bring up a chat window with a rep who will set you up. http://www.radiators.com/jeep-radiators.html

Go get it flushed first. I'm running into the same issue on my SRT8. Last summer it never went over 190-195. Now it'll run 215 and climb in traffic to 220. That's with the same 180* Therm. I had in last year and the same fan settings. Gonna get it flushed first, then replace the therm. second. I've got 52K on my orig. coolant. I'm thinking my therm. is sticking as well. May as well do the flush first since it's a good thing to do. The therm. is pretty cheap for a second thing.
