also, without letting out any secret sauce, can you give us some details of what we see and what the goals are for this?

This is the Jeep. :o

Fortunately it was insured at the time of the incident. After several months of bickering it was covered and written off as a total loss. And I retained the vehicle and title :D

Here are some of the insurance photo's
http://s423.photobucket.com/albums/pp312/BJBSRT8Jeep/BdCarma%20Insurance%20pics/

The Jeep obviously will be a track only vehicle. Probably will have 2 front seats, full cage, certified to run 8.5 1/4 mile. With only a few minor modifications it will look like a Jeep SRT8 from the outside. The cutout for the center exhaust will be widened for the wheeler bars. Parachute will be located where the rear wiper is.

Motor combo has not been decided.

Updates to follow :D

Awesome! how good or reputable is RDP with chassis work, just curious? I'm sure good enough if yo are having them do it, just never heard of anyone on any Jeep or SRT8 board dealing with that kinda thing before. Any reason you did this instead of grabbing a full race ready chassis and having someone mount the Jeep SRT8 body on it?

You are not using a full interior in bdcrma right? Is this gonna be race seat, cage, harness etc?? Parachutes or only the wheelie bar out back? Just curious how drivable shes gonna be, street legal even? Thanks in advance haha - if its confidential feel free to ignore my post haha

RDP is solid in this type of work. This is the first project like this "State side" but Steve has done many back in the land of Oz.

This Jeep had a transmission explode in it a couple of years ago. The resulting fire caused it to be totaled. It was insured (Stated vale, not blue book:lol:) so we kinda made the plan to do this the night of the accident.

This will just be a track only vehicle, I have GDCARMA for my weekend drive.

Just a guess, 3,600 - 3,800. I know it weighed a lot less last week.

There are some. I sold the front seats, most anything dash related was melted in the fire, so yea there are a lot of parts that will not be used

Thats awesome! Any reason you're going w/ the 440 and not the aluminum 426 in a boosted app? Any idea on what kinda compression you're gonna run either? Just curious, again if its confidential just ignore this lol, just curious is all :)

Do it BJ! Once you or others have proven this setup the lemmings will follow! ME namely! An Aluminum FI setup is my dream motor, but not until Im driving a 2013 SRT8 Jeep as my DD and my '10 beast is an exotic beast of epic proportions. Thank goodness for you testes!

The Aluminum block is offered in 3 versions.

1- Direct OEM replacement for the 6.1
2- Ready to go as a 426
3- A block that has been roughed bored and can be taken up to a 468 CI

The original plan was a 426, using a bigger bore and a shorter stroke. However, I was down at BES (Tony Bischoff) yesterday and he said go as big as possible. So, my thought is if I go with a 440 that would give plenty of room to "refresh" Who knows, it may end up as a 468 on day.

Ahhh gotcha, I mean being billet aluminum, Im sure the extra cubes under boost isnt going to be an issue, I know that name, Tony would definitely know his stuff haha. May as well go 468 right outta the box just foe the hell of it lol!!!

And just to think, Roger is running something "similar" - not 8.5 I dont think haha, but has nowhere near the chassis/suspension setup, not to mention being tubbed, you are gonna run crazy fast dude, crazy fast! Any plan on whats gonna fuel this beast? She gonna have a meth setup?

I met Steve at the Piston Power Show over the weekend. They had a twin turbo 426 Challenger on the dyno at the show that I watched put out 1,358 rwhp! Steve seems like a really cool guy. I went by the shop at lunch today and saw your jeep there. Looks great man! I need a tranny rebuild, new cam, and a tune and am just waiting on a quote. I just moved to Cleveland from Dallas and had no idea this place is only 8 miles from where I work!

Was down at RDP on Friday. BDCARMA is looking good! Here are a few shots on Friday.

All glass will be replaced with polycarbonate. All internal door part have been removed. The operators will go in my Kid's Jeeps as we all know about the slow passenger window operator

BUMP BUMP BUMP! Hey Brian, whatever happened with this. From the looks of things, this thing should be nearing or already on the road! I mean I don't know the pace the guys were working at but under full steam and where you left off Id bet youre nearing or been on the dyno already? I sure know I'm ready for an update whenever you see this with pictures and/or video ;)
