buy a gallon of meguiars last touch for quick detailing inbetween washes, use 2 bucket wash method, keep it waxed/sealant
no good alternatives to hand wash/ the car washes use strong detergents that take off wax/sealant

X2 on what the carpet flyer said also after using 2 bucket methods I like to use meg's ultimate quick detailer it's a nice mist to spray on and whipe to get rid of dust and other little things I also use it on my rims to make them shinier

honestly......if you dont have time, tools and products to properly care for a black vehicle....DONT BUY IT! They are a total pain in the ass if you are anal like me. My wife had a black 04 Grand Prix GTP and I hated it

i would give it a full detail, wash, claybar, and all that good stuff and finish it with a good sealant ( i use Meguiars m21) and wax ( Meguiars 26). i always have meguiars ultimate quik detailer to wipe it down. i try to give it a wash 2-3 times a month. AND. get a sh*tload of microfiber towels!

As a black man, I think this title is racist  j/k
I don't see a black car being any harder to clean than a red or a silver car. I wash mines like I did when I had my sliver Grand Cherokee. The jury is still out on keeping them clean, you drive my truck down my dirt road at 55MPH then drive my moms red car down the road at the same speed and you will still end up with the back end being covered in dust and me cussing up a storm.

It isn't so much that a black vehicle gets any dirtier than other colors, but a black vehicle certainly does show dirt and paint defects to a greater extent than other colors. Dust, swirl marks and other imperfections that would hardly be noticeable on any other color even in bright sunlight, will show up like a neon light in the dark when over black paint. OK maybe that's a bit of an exaggeration but anyone who owns a black vehicle and gives a crap about its appearance needs to be on their A game 24/7.

put it in a bubble and never drive it again: http://www.calcarcover.com/product.aspx?id=73&cid=179
Being on your A game is a must. You must always have a full bottle of quick detailer and some CLEAN microfiber towels for in between washes.
Sealant is really really easy to apply/remove. It deepens the shine and seals the pores in the paint before adding wax. Invest in a good brand such as Klasse and use it about once a month.
If it's really dirty sometimes I'll go to the coin wash and power wash the heavy stuff of first and then drive home and bucket wash it the rest of the way, it seems to help.
One product I can recommend specifically for black vehicles is Poor Boy's "Black Hole" glaze.. this stuff works wonders as a base coat before wax. The product itself is a dark black so you're only adding to the black paint's texture.
Any other questions?

Thanks for all the advice guys!! I am huge into keeping my cars clean but with the jeep I was starting to lose interest in always keeping it detailed since not only was it getting old, but platinum just does not get dirty lol. The result was never worth the effort lol.
I am extremely anal about keeping the car clean lol. Do any of you guys use laser washes in the winter when its just too cold out to be outside detailing? We have them around my way and they are great. Nothing touches the car except liquids and it does a pretty decent job. I cant imagine that could hurt anything...

to me honestly... yeah black shows the dirt like whoa- but its like a second nature (cleaning the car) i dont even think... ah man, i gotta clean it... i actually enjoy making her shine despite just how 1 minute afterwords will make it look like it just sat in the garage overnight.
gotta take the good with the bad.

I bought a black Jeep because I am the type that benefits only from instant gratification. You know, seeing results that are apparent right away, such as a slick looking paint job that previously looked like it had been through a forest?
Wax is key. I like Turtle Wax Ice. Easy on, easy off, lasts FOREVER. At least longer than you would expect an easy on/off wax to last. I once had to soak my car in Dawn dish soap four times to remove the several coats I had put on the year prior!
If you keep up the consistent care, a quick clean up can only be a matter of taking a microfiber and spray detailer to the body between washes. Yeah, I was pretty anal, myself...
