Has anybody really taken a look at the stock exhaust manifolds? I just did, and they're really bad. The flow path is awful, no linearity at all. Between the flanges and pipes is stepped. The welds are inside and ugly.I was planning on porting mine and then selling them, but after starting one cylinder, I decided its not worth it. Its chewing up rolls, theres ALOT of material that needs to be removed. The collector needs to be welded and reshaped. Screw it.If anybody is looking for a set of mostly stock, low mile, SRT8 exhaust manifolds to play with, I have them.

I haven't seen the 5.7s manifolds. If they're worse then these, then Chrysler should be embarassed.

compared to what they built in the 70s and 80s the 6.1 manifolds are outstanding.

Are there any better options Mike?

Better options? Headers definetly. I thought the stockers could be ported, but after giving it a shot, it appears that the work will outweigh then the return.

About 3 years ago, when I bought my 2007 and my first mod was a set of headers. Porting them would be a waste of time, imo.

I'm not a fan of Kooks. Overpriced, and IMO, very overrated. I have Stainless Works.

Good for you. Glad you found what you like.

I liked them originally because they didn't throw the O2 codes. But that went away at some point and now if I let the truck idle it throws the code. :(

throwing codes because of headers is sooooo 2007.... :D

Yeah, know I have them turned off now. I can't pass inspection with them off, so I had to use non-foulers. Can't leave the nonfoulers in place all year round though, because the exhaust literally sucks the steel wool out of them and then they're useless.

Can you turn off the rear 02 sensors with a Diablo sport tuner?

Not any more. In earlier versions you could, but due to EPA regulations, they had to remove that option.

CMR dealers can still do it in custom tunes though. That removes liability from DiabloSport and puts it on the tuner.

Why do you think the Jeeps are rated at 420hp not 425hp. like the rest of the SRT8 vehicles? Those nasty ass manifolds!

I wish someone would make ST headers to keep the rear O2 sensors happy.
