Custom paint help for Hood

As you all you OG's know, I love my decals on my jeep. I have my big Mopar "M" and Mopar on my hood in Black Gloss vinyl. I wanted to paint the hood PX8 Black and over the decal and then after the paint dry's, I was going to take the decals off so the inferno red will be under it. It will look like a custom paint job if you catch my drift.

So can anyone help figure out the right way to paint the hood. The right steps I mean. What materials, what process?

IMO I think it won't look good. The black hood "might" kill your Jeeps theme. I think it will be too much.

Keep it how it is.

do the hood in black vinyl. have them cut out the M mopar so the inferno will be there.

I'm gunna have to find a shop for that, but I don't wanna spend a lot thats the whole point of me doing it the way I said. Then I was going to gt the roof vinyl and that cost $400-$600.
