"A 6.4L-liter V8 HEMI with MDS has been approved for production and is set to launch in the 2011 Dodge Challenger, Dodge Charger and Chrysler 300 SRT models. The new engine was derived from the 540-hp "392" crate engine that was introduced by Mopar at the 2005 SEMA show in Las Vegas. The Jeep Grand Cherokee will also receive this engine in the 2012 model year. The production version is expected to produce anywhere from 470-hp to 510-hp."
Sorry if this is a dupe, actually no I'm not.

The new SRT Challenger is going to have 475 HP/460 TQ. I hope the WK2 SRT gets higher numbers than that!

Maybe I've just been out of the loop for too long, but I'm stunned how the modern auto industry has way surpassed the muscle of the 70's. In a 4x4 no less.
My DL is toast.

I hope they have gotten the MDS worked out - the first version I sampled on a 5.7 HEMI was awful - you could feel it kick on and off - never really got it fixed even with multiple software re-flashes.
I was relieved when they said the 6.1 would not have - kinda sad to hear it is on the 6.4.
Maybe it works better now - ?

Yeah, an Accord can post better 0-60 times than most muscle cars of that era. There were some exceptions, but not many of us had those for daily drivers. 300 hp was a lot then, and that was gross, not today's net figures. There were exceptions though, with the underrated for insurance purposes of the drag vehicles. 0-60 in under 7 seconds was really fast, and now look at the big 4 door sedans hitting 5 seconds!

Got lucky enough to rent a new Mustang this past weekend. It was very fast and quite impressive other than too much plastics inside. It even had boost while cruising at 90 mph and had torque above that speed. I didn't really believe that it was a V6 until popping the hood, 305hp.
