Lift kit on-now a question

So I did a lift on my 05,just to try it out as i've never owned a lifted vehicle before.

My question for you guys with lifted wk's is this: I'm now getting a clunking or rattling noise from the front end. I can feel it in the floorboards when the front end goes over sharp bumps. The size of the bump doesn't seem to matter, just how sharp it is. I was on a road today that was badly potholed and frost cracked (no big holes or cracks but lots of them) and i could really feel it. I've had the lift on for about 2 weeks now and went back the other day and retorqued all the bolts and nuts,but the problem remains. I can't see any points of contact (wear marks or oherwise) on any of the suspension parts and am thinking it might be the tires. I'm using a 1/8" spacer and am wondering of the tires, with the extra sidewall now, might be moving side to side and smackin the spindle when i hit these sharp bumps? Any other thoughts?

Did you loosen the left rear upper control arm during the lift install? If so, THAT is what the clunk is. I had that same clunk, still do, strangely, however since I tightened it up, not so much anymore. I thought it was the front end too, since that's where I felt it, in the front floorboards!

Only one question. Did you re-torque with WK on the ground or lifted with wheel in the air. If second then there is your problem. You have to loose all the screws, lower WK to the ground and then re-torque. Clunk should go away.

Check your tie rod ends, they really need to be on there tight. Also check your clevis and strut bolts (on the clevis) check your UCA and ball joints.

Didn't loosen any of the rear control arms so i don't think that's it. Also didn't remove the tie rod's during install.

Retorqued everything after 2 weeks of driving,did have the truck on jackstands but i used a floor jack to apply pressure to the lower control arm to the point it was lifting the truck off the jackstand slightly, while retorquing.

I'm using stock length sway bar mounts in front, is it possible they are hitting the spindle?

Have you checked your sway bar end links?
Mine were annoying and did touch my steering nuckle so I moved my links to the inside of the sway which took care of the clunk, just something to try.

That's exactly what i was thinking of doing. I put the Bwoody links on about 4 months ago so i'm sure the bushings are fine but maybe it is the knuckle and link. Thanks Acid!

wHAT did you do with your 20" reps?
