I hope I get the pictures to work.
I wanted a sub enclosure and not use up too much cargo space.

Super Bad Ass!!! Great work and great pics. The only thing I would change is to hide the amp wiring completely. Other than that, you rock.

Thanks.
I didn't have the heart to drill any holes in the Jeep. I can still modify the wire routing.
Oh, the only hole I drilled is in the back of the left cubby hole in the dash for the Bass volume control.

When I looked at it I thought that too. But I would have to outsource them to China to make money. I'm too slooooooooow.

I thought about what you said and I ordered the Kicker end caps.
Good advice.

Well the speaker I chose requires .5-.75 cft enclosure. I added polyfill, that helps, I must be close.
I clipped it to the Jeep back seat lock at the top of the seat. It's tight.

You got me wondering what you mean? I wanted to match the contour of the side panel.
I stretched fabric and stapled it to the MDF I used more staples than you see in the picture. I used fiberglass cloth cut up and soak them with resin. After it hardend I sanded it. The light colored stuff is polyester body filler to get it semi smooth.

I really take that as a compliment. But I swear as I was doing this one I said to myself I'm sorry I started it. I posted it here so we all could share the info.
Thanks, Joe

No need to wonder bud! I am just used to seeing the contoured area masked off and then molded with resin/mat.
Check out this forum... though I just realized that they have removed guest view, so would need to register. There is some pretty unreal builds on there.

Oh, I know what you mean. I kind of just winged it. There are better ways of doing it. If I could have removed the panel and lay it flat, then I could have masked it and used it for a mold.
I never really gave a sub much thought till I saw your thread here.
Thanks for the inspiration.

Do you have any templates from your build at all? You could even make cardboard template pieces and sell them too.

LOL, I just winged mine to :p and I wouldn't say better ways, different sure, but structurally they'll be identical and sound the same. I had just never seen it done that way.
Thanks for the inspiration.

Remember I said if it came out bad no body would see the pics? Well, "alls well that ends well".
BTW that bevel square, the tool in the first pics. It lets you copy angles so easy and accurate. $4.95.
Thanks for the compliments.

Hifisound connection.com:
$79.00 Boston G110-4 sub
$85.00 Kicker ZX300.1 factory refurbished. I didn't notice. Seems brand new.
Homedepot:
$43.00 Resin, matt, 3M Super 77 spray glue.
$8.00 Cloth at Jo-Anne Fabrics An Audio store sent me there.
I had all the MDF, wire, fuse holder and connectors.
Wow, that's cheap!

Maybe a week, at one hour or two hours a night after work.....so..
nine or ten hours. But I was learning as I went along. I definitely didn't rush.

Thanks, I've been riding around listening to it. I only use the Jeep on weekends because I have a company truck.
How much depth does that box have? and how much internal space does it have?
