i was hanging out with some guys with the srt8
and i know if the older models if you remove the first pink and the first yellow (or something like that) it does something to the tracton control so you can do burn outs
does anyone know how to do this for a 2008 3.7L???
also if someone knows how to do it for an 2008 srt8 because one of the guys was wondering how to do it since the fuse system is a little difference
thanks in advance

Don't do it. If you do, you take the risk of burning your T-case.

I don't think that SRTs have transfer cases since they use an AWD system, so the power for the TCS should be in the circut box thingy so you might be able to find it on WKjeeps.com or something like that.

^What?
Dude the SRT guys don't pull the fuses because doing so will take the risk of toasting your T-Case.

the SRT's do have TC's.
This was tried by some members on another forum and it couldnt be done on the non- SRT drivetrain.

except for debry geting in the holes where your axles used to be.
which raises the question, does the 2WD WK have cap off plates?

He said front drive shaft Dylan, meaning front tailshaft, NOT the front half shafts.

ok... woah...
#1... anything with 4WD OR AWD has a Transfer Case...
#2.... removing a drive shaft only exposes DS flanges, which are flat metal, no open holes.
is there some kind of miss communication?
the TC is electronically controlled, if you pull a fuse, the TC cannot work the way it was made to, causing problems. These problems, compounded by spinning drive train parts and the power of a 6.1L SRT engine = bad news bears...

Yeah I was thinking half shafts, your right (like a front wheel drive car), but what's the difference?

I wouldn't do burn outs at all it doesn't show anything. except that it looks cool. but i would not risk it for a photograph.

What did you smoke this morning? Of course there are transfer cases in the SRT's They are just singe speed transfer cases....You did make me laugh with this one...

Half shafts go from the differentials to the outer hubs/cv joints. Driveshafts go from the transmission/transfer case to the differentials...In most cases. In some cars that have a rear mounted transmission, the driveshaft will go between the engine and the transmission.

I do believe that in the SRT models when you turn them on it automatically puts the transmission into AWD. My buddy has an 07 SRT and when he turns the JEEP off you can actually hear the motor taking it out of AWD. It is like me putting mine into 4LO. If you take the fuse out it probably disables the gears switching from 2wd to 4wd. :D

one of the SRT vendors had a module that in turn with pulling a certain fuse disabled the awd.....if i remember correctly

O, and also your 3.7 should be rwd with 4wd not AWD.

You can still do burnouts in an SRT8 without any modification :) Just not long ones....and it will mess with your TC.

Please do not pull fuses or in anyway try to defeat the AWD in a SRT8 or the 4X4 system in your WK to try to make your jeep into a 2wd so you can do burnouts.
Your transfer case will not like you very well...while the smoke is rolling of those rear tires it is also smoking your Transfercase too as the clutches inside do not fully disengage turning your Jeep into a no wheel drive.
Many have tried this and those that continue the practice are soon buying a new Transfercase.

I had my front shaft out to change the starter, tried to run it like that, cause the front u-joint was binding...NO GO!.... really, it wouldnt move.in park, i pushed it across the garage.
If it matters,5.7 limited

Err, I can't tell if people are being serious here or not. The transmission has nothing to do with AWD and AWD has everything to do with your differentials.

But this old thread is priceless!

Ok my thing is ... I know for shore 4 wheel drive will take a lot of power going to the wheels ,so I was thinking to pull out axle shafts .What you think it will work ????
Im ready to do my summer mode J let my know what you think … its so hard to get my 5.7 out the hole …after is rolling all fine but start sucks because 4x4
Thanks

The start sucks because of torque management.

Feel free to submit a donation to the "Ryan needs CMR" fund.....:(
Kamil, I cannot do much to the transmission like my old partner was doing in CMR but I can tune '05 and '06 Hemi's with SCT, as I understand it.
