Getting cold in NY need to do some work!

my wj 00 i6 is about to go into winter mode.... anybody have any suggestions on the things i should normally check other then oil, coolant, brakes, tires,

also cosmetically my jeep looks pretty good what can i do to give the paint or even the undercarraige to for protection against the elements (snow, rain, slush, salt)

undercoating in the wheel wells and under body, anti rust spray in the doors and rockers, a nice coat of wax on the paint, some mats for the interior, make sure tires and the spare is in good condition, make sure you mobile phone works and that aside you should be golden. Maybe a can of lock deicer to be on the safe side and a mickey of scotch in the glove for personal deicer :)

DO NOT park the truck in a heated garage if you can avoid it. Heat melts snow and cause a chemical reaction with salt and water. Not good for the metal parts on the truck.

Check your battery and serp belt.

Thats all I can think of for now. Oh! And fuel line antifreeze never hurts either.

any produst to use for undercoating in the wheel wells?
might try it this year.

you know how much NYC loves to slat when it snows and it has messed up my chrome wheels, they are pealing.

also
if you cant clean it pay a car wash to clean it to help get the salt off.
and give a plastic wax coat to the headlights to protect them.

and our lovely mayor with what he did with sanitation dept. so when we get hit with snow its gonna be pretty DEKCUF up

for the underneath and wheel wheels I used this black stuff GM pumps out of a drum. I don't know what it is exactly but looks like its an oil/ashphalt base. Goes on like spay paint and dries nicely. You can layer it on and it helps deaden sound. You can probably buy something similar in any auto store. It would be called asphalt under coating or maybe rocker guard. Rocker guard is kind of like truck bed liner bud dries smoother. Truck bed liner may not be a bad idea actually. But whatever you do, let it dry a bit between coats or it will just become a mess. I learned that lesson already. LOL

ill give it a complete wash/detail before winter. Claybar,wash,dry,glaze,sealant to give it protection and wax to protect the sealant before the snow and salt arrives.
