Maplight removal

I am looking to hardwire my V1 this week and know which wires to tap and ground to but, does anyone know how to remove the maplight (overhead console area) by the mirror?

any info on this would help.

Its an 09 GC limited btw.

slip your fingers under it(the end towards the windshield) and pull down. It is held in by tension clips only bro.....

Thats all thats holding it up? i figured the map lenses themselves needed to be removed first. I dont want to snap anything off and be driving with it hanging back and forth to work all week.

Also, mine has the sunglass holder attached to it. this shouldnt require any other method right?

had mine off many times bro.....it seems tough and then it just pops right out. All the upper mapl;ights are the same in the WK...except some have the sunroof button for obvious reasons.

yup just pull, just pulled mine out for the led install i did

hehe yeah wehn scott told me to just yank it off i was like WTF u sure??? but surely that's all u gotta do!!! pull the back(closest to the winshiled) and yank it down!
