locate the hose running from the PCV system to the intake, and take it off, and hook new hoses up so that the filter will now be in line with of all the hose. someone on here should know were the PCV on the 4.7 is, off hand i dont. if u take a picture of your motor i could probably find it.

I'm a mechanic and I can only guess why we would need a catch can. Is there a reason to have one. The only time I've seen oil in the intake was after my ZJ had 150,000+ miles on it.
BTW I'm not being a wise guy.

like jon said only seen them on 5.7 and 6.1 jeeps. many other makes and models use them.

seems like oil can be sent into your intake from the PCV system. and it makes a mess of the intake.

you don't need to have one the reason that info was on an s2000 site is because without one the motor suffers from oil starvation under hard cornering causing the v-tech to not engage.

If an engine is supercharged or turbocharged, I can see maybe excessive crankcase pressure pushing oil. Pressure from blowby. I don't know, but I guess if they are getting oil in the cans, it's a good thing to have.
