SRT8 Blown Motor. Anybody know who this is?

Reading up on the m5 forums.

Basically a member was talking about the cars he ran against. Mentions a GC SRT8. Gives the car some praise btw.

-2007 SRT8 Jeep GC with i/h/tune/4000rpm trq converter and 150 shot
friend of a frineds jeep, knew he was gonna run me that night so he decided to up his shot from a 75 to 150 to secure his victory. Even without the spray he would take me from a roll through 2nd gear, truck is awd plus it leaves at 4000rpm. of course he wanted to go from a stop so he has the advantage. so we run from a dig and he got out on me pretty good 3-4 cars but by 100ish he blew his motor, lol. I guess it couldn't handle the bigger shot of nitrous.

First of all...... typical BMW owner. Doesn't know shit about engines. Secondly, the 150 shot didn't blow his motor. Having it jetted wrong blew it. There are plenty of 150 shots out the and 200 shots and haven't blown their motors. An engine doesn't blow the first time b/c you doubled the shot. Something clearly was wrong with the NOS system. A solenoid on the fuel side may have died or he had the wrong jetting. Those are the only things that will kill a 6.1L.

I just posted it on the Red Site and we'll see if anyone fesses up to it. I think the Bimmer owner is full of it. He's talking about putting 3-4 cars on a Gallardo and he had 4 people in his car?!?!?! I'm sorry but I'm throwing up the BS flag on that one. Andy(MHP) got smoked by Mike's GCSRT8 at the track a few weeks ago and Mike was running 12.7's. I know the M5 is a 12.2-12.5 car. A Gallardo is an 11.9 car. Maybe the Gallardo needed a driver MOD!

I hardly EVER hear of anyone blowing a 6.1L. In 1.5 years on the red site, there's only 1 I've read about. That's b/c his NO2 solenoid was leaking at the track. He went to start it and KABOOM!! THAT'S IT! Oh yeah..... one other guy with a Vortech system and a crazy tune.

When the day comes that I upgrade to an SRT8 I think I'll just do exhaust, and intake and whatever little tweaks. I don't know enough about tuning, turbo's and stuff to go to that level.
