ok... i'm tired of searching...
people on "the other site" have pretty much sworn to the fact that '05-'07 tinted tails WILL warp... end of story...
true? not? who has stock '05-'07 tinted tails?
I just sent some to get tinted and if they warp.. ima be really sad...
I personally don't like the look of the LED tails, so thats not an option, so please no "get LED's!" you just take up space and annoy me :slapfight:
haha kidding.. but really... can we please lay this to rest?

I'm wondering this also, since I am purchasing another pair of OEMS to get tinted by daniel.
My mind is made up already, and no LEDs for me. (for now)

Get L.... wait j/k. But I read about it also and opted for LEDs. But I only think it was people in the hot states that had problems with warping. Also they went Dark on the tint. I think med tint on stock tails works fine.

If you don't likt the LED tails just get the LED bulbs in the stocks and you'll be good...

I think thats what also caused the warping. The LED bulbs are hotter then the oem bulbs, arent they?

I would say a big fat NO on the drilling holes... IMO Just don't put cold water on them when theyre hot. Mine are dark and I have no problem. I've had them for about 3 months.

Led's barly give off any heat at all. the holagen bulbs get hot. Just the earlier wk's with the 2 bulb tails are the one's I'd be concerned with.

about warping,
05 and 06 are the same lamps with 3 bulbs total.
07 and up only have 2 bulbs. 95% of the warping occurs with the later tails due to the top bulb cavity being twice as large.
led bulbs give off way LESS heat than stock.
back to warping. peope in canada have had tails warp while people in texas have the same tint job and no warping. also, its directly realted to the amount of tint. although, skye in texas has BLACK on BLACK dark tinted tails on an 07 no issues.
I have a medium dark for 2 years no issues. and Im a mile closer tothe sun than the rest of ya.

yes. 07 and up have the 2 bulbs total. this includes the reverse. the early ones, 05-06, have 3 bulbs counting the reverse one.

well mine is an '07, so its more at risk for warping?

Mine warped but it was 104 with 100 percent humidity and my little cousiin was driving my Jeep stuck in traffice foot on the brake and just the drivers side warped, on the passenger side the A/C vents out of the vehicle so I believe it keeps it cooler...on the driver's side there are to pieces on insulating tape over to wholes that I removed in an attempt to keep that one a little cooler, but have since changed the bulbs to LEDs...For the record Daniel did NOT do mine maybe that could be my problem IDK...

My stock tails (05 - 06 - dark tint, clear rev.) warped in less than a month. I also do not live in a hot area, North of Toronto. Canada.
I would recommend not tinting OEMs, but thats just me.

Is something like that just plug and play with my tail lights? will they be brighter? will they help with the heat?

no.
you need these for the 07+
http://www.v-leds.com/Exterior-LED/Brake-Light-LED/Red-LED/V-LEDS-RED-SPECIAL-TAILBRAKE-p5168711-1-2.html
and a 3 ohm resistor i believe. i need to confom the resistor 3 or 6. but def those special bulbs.

have we discussed this? is there a write up on how to wire them in? can you link me to the correct resistors?

Connect 6ohm resistor to black and outer white wire of OEM harness
its a 3 pin plug. the 2 outer wires.
be careful where you set the resistor they get fawking hot.
