Not new to the forum as I have been on in the WK2 thread. Just picked up my WK2 this past weekend. But 2 weeks ago, I purchased a WJ from my wifes grand parents. 99 Laredo with 22,700k miles!!! Picked it up for 2,500 bucks.
Replaced fan relay last weekend and ordered new axle shafts to replace torn CV boots. Other than that...great car!!! Now I have 2 jeeps!

Nice pickup man, 2500 is a STEAL! You have the 247 or 242 transfer case in there?

You really don't want that WJ. It's a horrible vehicle! I'll send you $3000 and take it off your hands.
That's a fantastic deal!

Well done, great deal! Are you saying that the rubber boots are torn or are the CV joints themselves are knackered? I've changed both my boots that had split and it's not too bad a job, just seems a bit extreme to change shafts for a bit of rubber?

Changing shafts isnt a bad job either...just take off the hub and slide the axle out and replace. I dont know how long the boot has been ripped so I figured I would change the shafts. 120 bucks for both shafts shipped.

I see what you mean and I agree that at that price, it's hardly worth the risk of only changing the boots. In my case, I changed them as soon as I spotted the split, before the grease had vacated and all the road crap had invaded the joint.
Good Luck!
