I have an 07 JGCSRT8. Where does everyone get their red LED tail light assembly? I only found the one sold by GennSpec on Ebay. Is there another seller? Are there different styles because I see some that the brake and blinker are broken up into a top and bottom half and the other ones that the whole thing lights up but just dims when parking lights are on and whole thing gets bright with the brake applied. Thanks.

Hey Eddie,

are you referring to these RED LED tails. Sorry these are the only pics that I have. I bought them from ebay about a year ago. I'll try to find the sellers name if this is what you want.

This is the seller. I have an 05 WK and this year the blinker is actually half of the assembly. The entire assembly does not blink. I believe that after 05 they got rid of this and the entire assembly blinks when you signal.

Yea. Those are the ones. Yea. That was what I was wondering. It seems as if Ebay is the ONLY place you can get red ones. Thanks.

As a side note- If you want to tint them, get the clear ones. You can go as dark as your paint and have no visibility issues.

REALLY? Thats an interesting point. I was going for the red because I was afraid the fogs and 3rd brake wouldn't match light output once all was said and done. I didn't want to have the tails super bright over everything else. But it makes sense to get the clears and have them as dark as the others. I was planning on doing medium tails and medium/dark 3rd brake and rear fogs.

Eddie thats only if you are going as dark as the paint on the Jeep. On a lighter tint, red is good enough.

I hear you guys. I appreciate the feedback. Honestly, I kinda like seeing a slight hint of the red lense under the tint when you look at it from an angle. I don't know. You guys got me thinkin now. WHY I OUGHTA!! Lol. J/K. With THAT being said, are the clear ones really THAT much brighter than the red ones?

eddie, if you want a hint of red, then get the red.

only use the clear if you want the lights dark as night.

thats direct from Daniel......

also, i see some comments about how much of the light does what....

see if I can splain

on the early jeps, 05/06, they have 2 bulbs in the red area of the tail lamp. and a total of 3 bulbs. In 07, the factory went to one bulb in the red, and a reverse, two total.

so on the early, the top most bulb is the park/brake. the middle bulb is the blink.
late ones, one bulb does it all.

so LED Tails are plug and play early jeeps. so park lights up the whole thing but only half bright. then you brake the top half comes on real bright. and when the blinker is on, the bottom half is double bright.

now, when you convert the leds for the 07 and up, you only have sop many wires because the brake and blink is all one wire and park the other. the result is that when you brake the whole thing lights up bright. and if the turn is on, the whole thing blinks.

hope that didnt confuse the matter. it makes sense to me!

talk to Jason Lipschitz he can splain it even better!

If you're going to install LEDs in an 07+, you'll have to do a little modification, detailed here:

These are the 3 different led tails. Like everyone said the clear are best for dark tint. The black have the blacked out housing even around the reverse lights. I kinda like the redish tint to sho thru the tint too a lil bit.

Look for the pics I just posted... Daniel just tinted all of my rear lights dark. I went w/ clear tails to start with. Mine are black when off.

Have any of you members bought the smoked black ebay LED tail's? Just curious because I'm getting my factory ones tinted, but I wanna have a back up set just in case.
