Its the new kid! . . . again. Hey 3.7L peeps. I gota question for ya. My Jeep is making a pretty loud clunking sound in the transmission area when it shifts into 1st gear and as soon as i hit the gas again. Its still under warranty but they keep tellin me they cant replicate it so they dont even touch it. This only happens after about 40 minutes of driving. Is this normal for a jeep? This is also the reason i dont have pics up of my ride yet. its been in the shop for a while . . .

Or i mean it makes the sound when it slows down and shifts back into 1st gear. Clearing that up.

You can feel the entire vehicle jerk and hear the clunk. its only wen it shifts in low gears. Like when im stuck in traffic it makes for a very uncomfortable ride.

How many miles she done?
I'm thinking a fluid change and possibly even a reflash of the module might be on the cards.

Ask the dealer to check the rubber bump stop on top of the front diff housing, mine did a similar thing, but at slightly higher mileage. It's a bitch to change, that maybe why they "can't find it".

Really. I'll call them up tommorow and let them know. How long does it take to change it? I had a big road trip planned friday . . . lol

Nearly a whole day. They need to drop the subrame and diff out.
It's only a thought buddy, not promising anything! I'm 10,000 miles away! lol

Yeah thanks. I know but at this point somethings gota give cuz it gets really annoying and uncomfortable. Plus the manager of the shop already confirmed something was wrong. If they dont try to fix it this time then its time for more drastic measures lol

Ben might be right with the rear diff. but also consider the torque converter. That could have something to do with it, too. Just speculation though. Good luck and them saying they won't fix it is BS... you know that and they know that b/c you're fully protected under the warranty.

Yeah the dealer actually told me if i took it to them again they would charge me cuz im just "wasting their time" so i headed over to consumer protection dept. today. They told me if they refuse to take the time to look and fix it then we would go to the next step. Not sure what the next step is yet tho lol but ill take it if i have to.

** front diff Pepper **
So they say your wasting there time even though the service manager agrees there's an issue. Someone there needs a rocket up their arse thats for sure!
If they give you grief, ask politely to see the dealer principal, and if he's unavailable, ask for his direct phone number, then explain the situation to him in a calm and grown up manner.
Basically, be everything our boy Dylan cannot be.

Whatever.. lol. Me mentioning the rear diff is almost a habitual act b/c I've had mine rebuilt twice.

No i didnt i got tired of dealing with the ignorant dealer shop workers. speed"n"jeep05 told me he had the same issue and got it fixed by changing the clutch system. Im going to another dealer tommorow and letting them know about this. Hopefully i get somewhere.

Update on this issue. Just got back from a new dealer. They concluded they couldn't do a thing until the jeep replicated this issue. It doesnt do it unless i go on 2 hour drives so once again i got no where. They did however replace all the window motor things and replace the two front seat belt recoilers. They did tell me to bring the jeep in again once the "jerking" of the tranny resumed. Didn't get it fixed but atleast i made progress considering all the other dealers i've been too tried to pass off my window and seatbelt issues as "normal"
