So i bought an SRT8 exhaust off ebay and i wanna copy what Scott did but to my own needs.

They guy is going to ship me both rear sections with resonators and tips, and both rear pipes that go over the axle to the stock mounts. I asked him to cut off the muffler because i dont want/need it to save on shipping costs.

I need to get a few parts and was wondering if anyone can help.

First i need the flange that connects to the down pipe on the 4.7 because i am not cutting it off the old exhaust so i can sell it as a bolt on kit. Where can i get one, dealership cant get them alone.

Next i need 2 of the stock rubber isolators/hangers, i can get them for $18 each at the stealership, thats alot for a chunk of rubber.

Next, (THIS IS WHERE YOU COME IN SCOTT)

Just to prepare before the parts come in,

I need to know the diameter of the stock SRT8 dual pipes coming out of the muffler? OD and ID

Does anyone know the OD and ID of the stock 4.7 pipe after the flange but before the stock muffler?

I am going to put in a long pipe where the muffler is then a Y, bolt it all together, then bring it to my exhaust shop, have it all welded and hang the rear section. I am just trying to do as much as i can in advance to save on install cost. (per the shops suggestion, since its not made by them they are just gonna weld it)

the SRT exhaust is all 3" and I believe the 4.7 is all 2.75"

OK, so once i verify that i will need a 2.75 to 3" no problem. Then 3" the rest of the way.

Any ideas where i can get the rubber isolators cheaper then the dealership and where i can find a new flange? maybe one thats already 3" ?

the exhaisy shop may have those laying around...mine did and didnt charge me for them. The flange...hmmm...what happened to yours? Maybe have the guy youre getting the srt from send it.

The SRT has dual flanges not a single and there would not be much left if he cut them off for me.

I am leaving the stock one on the exhaust i have now because its all welded and i want to sell mine as a bolt on kit.

I am just going let the shop supply the Y pipe and the straight pipe instead of trying to clamp it all together myself then take all the clamps off. I am gonna see if he can get a flange this week, so when i have him install everything we dont need to wait on ordering it if he does not have one.

I just need that flange and 2 rubber hangers.

None with WKs. There is a 99 WJ 4.7 down the road at a bone yard i could check out but i dont think its the same. and its sitting on the chassis.

I have a set off an srt muffler. I figured I could sell it to someone that wanted to put straight pipes in. You can have them for the cost of shipping.

I wonder if they are the same size or not. Being that there is 2 on the srt vs 1 on the 4.7. hmm.

was your stock 4.7 one chopped off?

No, the new muffler is welded directly to the flange so its bolt on/off.

I want to leave my current exhaust whole for resale purposes.

gotcha......I dont have a 4.7 flange....but the SRT flanges would have to be different if the diameter is different. Wouldnt you think?

Thats what i think.

I went tot he shop today and he said worst case scenario he will just cut the entire flange off the truck and weld on a new one.

So all i need to supply is the 2 rubber hangers and the exhaust itself.

they dont have the hangers? My shop had them laying everywhere and just found two that worked. They will also have to weld two hangers rods on the rear frame rail...but you prolly know that already

He has hangers but i want to try and make it as simple as possible so i am gonna pickup two stock rubber hangers for over the axle. He will use his own hangers for the tail pipes because we have to modify them to fit around the hitch so the stock ones prolly wont work either.

No, I have not even received the parts from UPS yet. The exhaust wont be here until thursday and its prolly going to sit in my shed for at least a month until i get a job and can afford to have it installed. I will post pics when its all done.
