Hey guys!

Well, I figured Marlin's idea for a gallary thread was an awesome idea, so here goes...

I bought this Jeep in September 2007 and it was a very, very clean example. No scraches, dents etc, but it did have a couple of stone chips on the hood (which were touched up easily - thanks to Dr. Color Chip!).

Here she is after the Winter prep:

I believe one of my first mods was to buy a Laredo grille, you can see this in the engine pic - I kept this for a while but I went back to a Limited/Overland one.

And as she sits now:

Here's a couple of pics from the sub-station. There were taken with my iPhone, got to site and realized the memory card wasn't in the camera - I was gutted.... Need to plan another road-trip now!

The shifters and e-brake aren't stock no, they are made by a German company called Startech.
I've added the original interior photo to the first post. :)

Thanks for the kind words guys! I might take the Jeep on a road trip on Thursday (work related, in a sub-station) so should get some better pics then!

Do you use those tires year round? How are they in the snow and bad weather?

Great stuff Marty!
Lovely clean Jeep man, and I really dig that colour, it's a very "modern" colour if you know what I mean?
5 stars! :)

Thanks again for all the kind words guys - much appricated, as always!

I'll try and get some better pics tomorrow though!

I will be putting on the old wheels for Winter - wearing Wrangler F1s. I would happily use those tires in the Winter though (snows not much of a problem TBH), but I think the salt would ruin the wheels.

I am thinking of getting the power coated/painted silver next year for all year useage though. :D

I looked them up on line and not only are they super expensive but it says that they should not be used for more then light snow travel.

Suppose it all depends on how bad your Winters are...

About 1 > 2" of the stuff and everything comes to a stand still here LOL! I wouldn't say the Wrangler F1s are great in the snow/slush, but that's all part of the fun IMO...

We get 1 to 2' before life comes to a stand still, id say we have winters that usually reach the 120"+ snow totals before spring.

I was hoping they would be good in snow but guess not. Oh well. i am going to stick with what i choose originally.

My dad got them on his car, so I can report back in Spring - but that's obviously a little late.

I'd say you'd be better going for something more suited to snow/ice though since you get (a lot) more than us!

new radio I see, did you have to do much to get it to wrok properly???

The radio unit was kinda plug 'n' play.
I had to remove the instrument cluster to mount the GPS antenna and install a different CD-Changer cable.

Its the RB-3, basically the Euro version of the RB-4.

it looks really nice.

I was thinking about doing this to mine, but when I saw the price tag in the mopar or jeeps unlimited (idk which one) I quickly stoped thinking about it. (the price was toping 2G!)

Thanks Dylan! :)

It does sound better than the old one and I like how displays a 'Jeep' logo when it turns on! :D

I wouldn't mind upgrading the speakers one day though and will probably get an aftermarket unit for optimum iPod compatibility to save messing around with CDs. That's a bit further down the list though....

Look's great marty!

I ran a set of General grabber UHP's on my old durango for a season, I loved them!

And I even got caught out in the snow with them, I was shocked how well they did compared to proxy S/T's!

Thanks Joel!

Good to hear they were better than Proxys - I had Proxy Rs on my last car and weren't bad at all in snow.

Think I'm gonna get the wheels painted to use all year round - plus people keep asking me what kinda drugs I sell with the chrome wheels!
