yeah you buy the precut for the tails and they put it on for you if you dont want to do it your self. im giving up on tinted tails bc i have to register my truck in PA within 2 months and that wouldnt pass inspection!

depends on CT laws! i know in NJ you are not allowed to have any tints on the front windows or tail lights or you will fail inspection! PA is a little better so lets see! check out CT dmv site to see what they say

They couldn't get it to wrap around the headlights without wrinkled edges, and said the film was garbage and too thick. All I'm saying is that ebay has crap sometimes and you have to be careful but hopefully the tint you buy works perfectly b/c I lost all hope in doing this after my ebay attempt.

I think I remember you saying this a while back. I'm def not going with the ebay stuff. The lamin x film looks a little more legit. There is a vendor and installer of their products a few towns over from me, so I might swing by and get his opinion on whether or not he can install it clean before even purchasing it.

I was going to get a spare set of tails to be painted but I want LEDS, and all this re-wiring crap for the 07+ is annoying (plus I dont want to cut any wires in case I have to change them back). For now, I just gotta wait.

This lamin-x stuff really got me interested though, might have to ask the local shop here when I get my windshield tinted.

I came across this infiniti the other day that is owned by a dude that works at the Dunkin Donuts I get my coffee at. Next time I see it parked there I'm going to ask the guy how driving at night is bc his are pretty dark.

I just got off the phone w/ my local Lamin X vendor and am going to most likely stop by his shop this afternoon.

He told me he doesn't even use the pre-cut films, but cuts his own for a cleaner install. He also said he's done a lot of the dark tints, but said it def is illegal but it comes out really nice and doesn't cut much or any light output.

If anything I'll take a look at how dark it is today, and if it's too dark I'll order the light tint (which he doesn't stock) and go back.

I'll try and snap a pic with it laid out if I can.

Ok fellas.. I went down there to check out the film and pick out a color.

He put on some rough copies on my fog lights so I can test some out tonight before he puts it on the headlights.

They aren't cut perfectly, but are rough drafts so you can get an idea how they look. They do cut out a little light, but at night I don't think would be too noticeable.

Ok.. I noticed in the daylight that it did cutout a bit of light, but HIDs are so bright anyway that I don't think it will be a drastic effect.

Oh and Irf.. I was checking out what we were talking about the other day, and I can def. see the yellow clearly from the 3ks out about 5-7 feet past my bumper even with my low beams on.

But yeah dude when I was driving home last night I looked closely and clearly saw the yellow fade into the white/blue low's about 5-7 feet outwards..

Everytime I pull onto my street I turn off my low beams and just ride yellow all the way into my driveway lol.. I love those bulbs!!!!

Yeah I think that color with match up best to my window trim. It's never going to be a 100% match, but I tried glossy and it just didn't look right at all.

Ok so after driving at night with the film on my fogs I can tell a slight difference with the amount of light output emitting. My 3k fogs were not as a crisp yellow as they used to be but still plenty bright.

That said I will still most likely go with the same level of tint (gunsmoke) on the headlights as well. If I don't like how they turn out I'll switch them out to a lighter shade of tint and go from there.

More pics to follow hopefully Friday once installed.

I didn't take any last night, but like I said I could tell a slight difference in that they were not as bright. I would guess 10% lighter or so, but still very bright.

yeah from the seat you can barely see the fogs unless you sit straight up, then you can see them a little more... but yes last night on that dirt road i could see really really far with the 6k 3k combo!!!
