BWoody Sway links for the standard WK.....

BWoody has made a set of upgraded sway links for all the non srt8 models.
He can also accomodate all size lifts with these.

most every SRT8 have BWOODY upgraded sway links and all rave about how much they improve the handling.

Hopefully I'll have mine soon and can post up results. I know when i upgraded to the ADDCO frt and rear sway bars that the SWAY LINKS were the 'weakest link' in improving the WK handling.

The GB will save you quite a bit of bux off the regular price so now is the time to get them.

The front went straight one. No issues.

The rear, which uses a new 1/2 (.50) inch bolt to mount to the sway, was a little but wider that the stock bolt (.47) On my Addco Bar it required me to open the hole up with a 1/2 inch drill. Now I tested it on my stock rear sway and it fit, was tight but fit. So maybe a round file would open it just enough if you have stock sways. I'll let Mike @ BWoody know what i found.

I asked Mike about Grease ansd he said just the bushing faces so I used some Poly bushing grease. Its clear or whitish grease thats sticky like fly paper. but it should keep any squeek monster away.

You need 18MM for both top and bottom front mounting. in the rear you need a 18mm wrench and a 8 mm wrench to get the old ones off the bar. then for mikes new bolt, its 3/4. the rear i did right on the ground no jacked up. on the front i had to jack the lower control arm up just a bit to get the hardware in. I did all my torqueing while all 4 wheels on the ground. Mike gives you all the torque specs on his sheet of instructuions. be sure to do it.

Now for the road test: Holy **** Its like NIGHT AND DAY. While just driving around the steering just feels that much more firm. Like its on RAILS!

Then when i made some crazy lane changes like to avoid something in the road, thats where these LINKS SHINE! Any kind of evasive type manuever, it just happens, there is little to none body roll. I can also feel its mauch tauter performing a 90 corner with no brakes. it does so as on tracks.........

my other suspension mods:
- front and rear Addco with greasable bushings
- rear Bilsteins (front in about 2 weeks when im on vaca)

So for me, these Bwoody links really are the 'missing link' to my suspension upgrades.
A well made product filling a void and completely out-performing the stock parts.

If handling upgrades are in your plans, I would recommend these links :thumbsup:

I like to do some OHV driving every once in a while.

I already have the SRT8 sway bar and b/c of it's extra rigidity I'm aware that I lost some articulation but what affect will the links have?

I'm aware that this mod will make it more street worthy but is it going to butcher the Jeeps ability to go off road.. I really don't want that I'm a Gemini and can't make up my mind :)

speaking from the offroad world were we had more body roll then u guys can imagine...links alone dont really do anything, if they are shorter it can help a little. i think most people say they help just because there mind says they did, because they spent over $200 on them (wich is highly over priced) making them wider doesnt help. now an upgraded sway bar can help. but links really dont do much on there own. like i said, im speaking from the offroad world were sway was a big deal, and they had many (cheaper) solutions to it

I'm sorry, i know there is alot that goes in to making stuff and designing and such but i could never justify spending that kind of money on sway bar links. at this point i cant justify buying the SRT sway bars (though i want to) but $210 for links in a GB or $270 standard, thats steep.

If i had a disposable income i would consider spending the near $500 and upgrade to SRT sways and buy these links but to me thats pricey for the average guy who just wants some better handeling.

Yes, i know this but what i am saying is it will be close to $500 after front and rear sways and then these links.

That just seems like alot of money to me for solid sway links.

When i was wheeling i could get disconnect links for the sway bars with heim joints or geasable bushings for under $100. It just seems steep thats all, i am not trying to bash or say that the parts are junk, cause if i had the extra cash id do it.

yes.....

the mistake that some make is they see the price on justforjeeps for the rear bar at $293. But that is the price for the rear bar, bushings and 2 rear sway links. You dont need the rear sway links on the NON-SRT WK and that makes the rear bar significantly cheaper. Like....$160 cheaper. So...looks like right now the price for both bars is $153 and $130 for a total of $280. But I have seen them cheaper. I think I paid $100 for the rear and $130 for the front. I have no idea why the recent price increase?

they cost about 300 for both so a little more than the SRT ones new. i would say if you canget srt8s for like 150, a little more, for both, then go that way. but before I would spend 280 for srt8, i wuld spend 300 on the Addco

I don't doubt that those links are waaay stronger,BUT i'm wondering if the bushings or the links are whats responsible for the improved handling?

Possibly a combination of the two?

we may never know, the stock links, at least the lower rear is not replaceable. look at your stock parts our oem links are not like what you may be used too.

now i think about and look at rock auto, you will be buying new links when the bushings go bad. once you have to do that, the BWoody makes a hell of a lot of sense.

We realize some of you think their expensive, but you have to realize that we only use high quality materials that are completly made in the USA (unlike the OEM replacements sold by others) and these are very expensive to manufacture.

Just got back from a test drive. Very nice! Difference is most apparent during lane changing type manuevers. I cant wait to upgrade the sway bars as well. Some quick pics

I found the rear Commander sway bar, which is the same as the srt8 correct? For around 80 bucks shipped, I wrote J4J to see if they will pricematch, guess I need to go check my emails. Lol.

I like the quality of these thought, i would of gone this route if i was sitting low.
I had to get mine in 13'' from eye to eye to work correctly.
