I was looking at ordering a 2011 Summit edition or have a chance to purchase a 2009 srt8 for a really good price. The srt8 has 22,000 miles and I can purchase it for around $33,000 with a 7yr / 100,000 maxcare warranty. The srt8 is loaded with premium sound including Nav. I was going to order a Summit within the next 2 weeks, but came across this srt8 while I was at a dealership. Any help would be appreciated.

what kinda help you looking for? that is a very nice deal on the SRT8, so I imagine you will be saving around $10k over the summit? a wk2 with the hemi will get a lot better gas mileage than the srt8, and I love the new wk2 interior. that being said, if you want on-road performance and don;t mind 4-5 mpg's difference, than get the srt8 hands down. $33k on a cherry srt8 is a good deal from what I have seen...anything low $30's is very nice on an 08+

How is it in the snow compared to a non str8? If you currently have a str8, would you trade it in on the newer grand cherokee?

Not a soul on here would trade an 09 srt8 for an 11 summit. When buying this vehicle mpg's just isn't a concern, it can't be as it's not comparable due to the differences the vehicle was made for. These rigs don't like deep snow as our front air dam is quite low, although I am an Alaska boy, born and raised and I will say that I was seriously impressed by the 6" deep snow capabilities of my beast.

By the way, that price is an incredible deal. Especially if it has a clean carfax report!

SRT8 there is no question about that, but if you wait around for 2012 SRT8 then that's a different story

for me i love the body style of the wk/srt8s. its a different beast from the 5.7Hemi and its an absolute BLAST to drive it. ill shoot for the SRT!

there is now way i would ever trade my srt8 for a slower 2011 jeep. once youve experienced a jeep accelerating that fast, you wont care about mileage. and i live in the fargo, nd area and mine has no issues in the snow.

I would NOT trade my 07 SRT8 for an 2011 Grand Cherokee. That looks like a good deal on the 2009 SRT, go for it !

Has any said SRT yet? Drive both and tell us what you think.

That is a good price on the SRT if it is clean.

I look at it like this...

They both serve 2 very different purposes. One costs alot more to maintain and drive regularly... brembo brakes are expensive.

On the other hand the other is a first year production vehicle, and as can be seen in the wk2 section there are still some assembly line bugs to be worked out...

If this was a 09 srt vs. 2012 JGC, I would hands down go with the 2012, smoother ride, more options, nicer interior, beautiful exterior... but if for nothing more I would take the srt simply because its had 4 years to work bugs out, well that and I do like going fast and LOVE how the srt8 grand drives.
