So i am getting everything organized for my kenwood head unit installation.

I have the Double din bezel, dash kit, kenwood deck, and adapter/interface to talk to the amp. The shop is getting me the 2 required PAC interface/data adapters needed for the steering wheel controls.

Is there any data adapter/interface i can buy so i can still have my power memory seat and auto tilt mirrors?

I assume thats all run through the stock unit because the power seat says driver 1 or 2 on the stereo when choosing a selection and you have to have power memory seats for the auto tilt mirrors.

Please tell me i dont have to sacrifice this to change out head units. My g/f and i use both features all the time.

I don't see why the memory seats and tilt mirrors wouldn't work.... whenever I use the memory seats I get a message on the EVIC, not the radio. I don't have my radio presets set up through the memory though. That might be the only thing you lose.

I dont know, i just know that alot of cars use the radio for everything these days. I know if i go in my jeep right now and press 1 or 2 for the memory seat function it says driver 1 or driver 2 on the radio display. But if i am in D and try to do it then the EVIC will say memory seat disabled because you can only use it in park.

Hmm, I have no idea... maybe someone who has gone through the upgrade will chime in. I would guess no, but that's just a guess.

I dont even know if it will effect the memory system at all or not, I hope not but i will do some more research.

I don't think it will affect the memory seats or the tilt mirrors. I'm pretty sure there is a separate module for those features... at most I think you'll only be able to have one set of radio presets instead of two separate ones like you can with the memory feature.

I have the REC and all of my seat memory messages are displayed on the EVIC.

You should try just removing your radio real quick, and seeing if the memory seat settings still work and the tilt mirrors.

I don't know but most new radios have FM1 and FM2. Just program all yours in FM1 and hers in FM2.

He's worried about losing the memory seat option and the auto-tilt mirrors.

I had some extra time so at lunch I removed my radio, and my memory seats still worked. I don't have the auto-tilt mirrors enabled so I'm not sure if that will still work but I am going to guess that it still will.

Thanks dude, that helps ALOT, i will still try it myself but that at least eases my mind.

Thanks again.

The seat memory module is under the seat IIRC. Let me look in the FSM.

From the FSM:

The Memory Seat Module (MSM) is located underneath
the driver seat, towards the front and on the
outboard side. It is used in conjunction with the other
modules in the memory system to recall the driver
seat to one of two preset seat positions (horizontal,
vertical, and recliner). The switch for the memory seat
programming and selection mounts on the driver door
trim panel. The memory system is able to store and
recall all driver side power seat positions, outside mirror
positions and power adjustable pedal position. The
system can be set for two different drivers. On vehicles
with a factory installed radio connected to the
Controller Area Network (CAN) data bus network, the
memory system is also able to store and recall up to
twelve radio station presets (six AM and six FM), also
for two drivers. The memory system will also store and
recall the last station listened to for each driver, even
if it is not one of the twelve preset stations.
The memory system will automatically recall all of these settings when a button of the memory switch is depressed,
or when the doors are unlocked using the Remote Keyless Entry (RKE) transmitter (if the “RKE Linked to Memory”
feature is enabled). If the vehicle has more than two drivers the RKE transmitter recall of memory features can be
disabled. This is a customer programmable feature of the Electronic Vehicle Information Center (EVIC).

Thanks everyone, This answers my question 100%.

This makes perfect sense now, the only reason it says Driver 1 and 2 on the radio is to recall the radio presets.

Thanks everyone. Problem SOLVED.
