I've had my jeep for about a year now and I actually thought I knew everything that's needed to know about my dash (signal, hazard etc)

so while applying some armorall to the dash i accidently turned on my FOGS. Apparently i didn't noticed i even had them because the sign on the switch had been warn away. I couldn't beleive i NEVER noticed that after a year with the jeep.

although a good find I still felt like a total noob about it

lol low beam? isn't that what you drive with all the time? Do you mean your fogs possibly? The fog's were tricky for me since you have to pull that level outwards lol.

The first day i had my car i also was wondering how i could get those fogs working. Same for the rear fog lights. (i think you guys in the States donīt have this option) Just after some playing around i found it out.

On my car (made in Austria) the lower red reflector part of the tail lights is standard equipped with fog lights. Because i already had the sockets in there, it was for me quite easy to do the Quad Squad modification.

I actually had to search(google) to find out how to put the fog lights on.When I looked and noticed I wasn't the only person that didn't know,I didn't feel like such a dummy...lol

Well I guess I am in good company, it took me a month to figure out the fogs switch, found it in the manual while looking up something else. Further embarrassed by showing my wife it worked the same way in her chrysler, only to find out she already knew that.....

I feel your pain on this issue. I was not aware of the auto high beams until I stumbled across a post earlier this week. By the way, if you are wondering about these, you control them on the EVIC options and also the lights need to be turned to auto headlights. You can tell that you have this option beucase there is a small sensor ont he back of the rearview mirro (facing outward toward traffic) that senses oncomming headlights

OMG, thank you! I just realized I have the fog lamps too. I also thought they we're just fake plastic lenses but know I now better. Awesome! What a treat. :)

I always hated finding things like this, my 04 got hit the day I got it and popped my tire. I was super pissed and couldn't find the jack only to watch my girlfriend fold open the seat and get it. FML.

Two days ago I changed the cooling fan relay & turned the truck on to make sure the fan came on. After the fan started I look over at the radiator & screamed out loud to my self,OH SH*T THE TOP HOSE TO RADIATOR BLEW OFF. I rushed & turned the truck off & looked all around under the truck for the hose. Finally I looked at the radiator & noticed it was plugged & was suppose to be that way. I just laughed & told myself, you are such a idiot.

When I installed a 2" lift kit, the instructions said "may need a spring compressor for right front." So I rented an internal spring compressor tool. I knew it wasn't the right type, but how far would I need to compress it anyway, right? Well "may" always means "will". There I was with wheels off and axle hanging with the wrong tool. Fortunately the local O'Reilly's loans tools to customers and it was business hours. But I still had to ride my son's bike 20 blocks to get it. Ha! :P

I know. I still laugh about it. After a certain age pride's no longer a factor.

I can't say much. I bought a Dodge truck from a dealer years ago. As we all no men don't need no stinking owners manual.....
Well we are headed out one day and I decided to let the wife drive. All the sudden the radio gets loud and it starts changing stations! I'm going what the heck, wife laughs and tells me she found radio controls on the back side of the steering wheel. If wasn't for her I may have never known that they were there......

It's not bad when you do something stupid once but when you do it twice you're automatically inducted into the idiot hall of fame. I changed the steering stabilizers on both our wj's and couldn't get the nut off the axle side mount on the first one even with the impact. I cut the nut off, installed a new nut and bolt and called it good. On to mine same frickin problem. i said man they really have an issue with these nuts. I cut it off, got another new bolt, installed it,found the little piece of paper in the bottom of the box thet says the nuts are pressed into the bracket and SUPPOSED to stay there, went to the fridge and grabbed a beer, got out my lighter, lit said piece of paper on fire and then went into the house:D

As any boat owner can tell you, it is an ongoing series of missing items, unknown parts, and mis-haps at the boat ramp/dock/open water. Whether warranted or not, the whole family, guests, and nearby strangers will provide endless, unsolicited criticism and tips. It is a constant source of tension and hysterical laughter.

My 9 year old daughter christened our boat OOPS, which is memorialized in big cartoon letters on the stern. Those who feel that the captain needs to rule the ship clearly haven't met my kids and their grandmother.

My 3 year old daughter today climbed in my lap while I was in the drivers seat & told me to turn up the radio. When I went to reach for the radio she said not there but here, pointing at the steering wheel.I told here that's something called cruise control for driving on the highway and it doesn't control the radio. She told me daddy move your hands so I can show you.She put here hand on the steering wheel and I started reading a email on my cell and the radio started getting louder. She hopped off my lap and got back in her child set and when I asked her how she did it,she told me no,I'm only going to tell mommy. As soon as she said that my wife gets in and I tell her what happened and she tells her show mommy how to turn up the radio. She climbed back on my lap and told her look at the buttons behind the steering wheel. She said this one is to make it louder and pointed to the other side and told her, this one is to change the radio from playing daddy's baseball and basketball games.Lol.Later I'm going to bring her in the garage and see if I can learn of anything else she may know.
