Grand Slam West is an annual event held in Moab, Utah where Grand Cherokee owners get together to run the trails around Moab. The event costs $30 per Grand Cherokee (fee goes toward BLM and state land use fees and BLM insurance).

This year's event will be June 10-12. Everyone with a Grand Cherokee equipped with 4WD and low range transfer case is welcome. Trail difficulty ranges from easy/moderate to you've-got-to-be-kidding!

id love to make it out there... but its a one day, 9 hr drive. unless a punch of guys from the east coast wanted to convoy out. i looked at the list of trails and there are a bunch of "moderate" level trails- so im wondering how hard they are..

You don't think there are enough difficult trails for your WK? If you came, you'd find plenty of challenging trails. (The trail ratings were created 10+ years ago, there's been a lot of erosion since then, making some trails more difficult than their ratings imply.)

I'm thinking about going. It's 3 hours away & the Saguaro 4XC crew invited me out. Is the mid-June weather bearable on the heated slickrock? Is Lion's Back really private property now?

It's pretty hot out there so bring plenty of water and I'm not sure if it's private property, but it is closed.
