Yeah it does compress a lot I don't know if it's a rental though, it has the plastic chrome upgrade.

True story: I jumped some train tracks back in high school like a dumb ass teen kid in high school and ended up breaking something in the front suspension.. can't remember what it was though. I was able to limp home but I had a good idea that something was wrong when the inner tread on my LF tire was down to the steel belt after a few months.

I used to do stuff like that with my '93 ZJ. I don't think the independent suspension would live long in the new ones though.
