Allright so I am no big audiofile and Im keeping this rather simple for now.

Currently:
OEM RAQ 6 CD which i swapped for the REF which came from the factory.
SIRIUS
BA speaker and amp from factory.
Steering wheel controls.

TO be installed:

Pioneer F90BT
Kicker Amp udgrade
Kicker 6 speaker upgrade

For the Pioneer, I have the following:
Harness
Steering Wheel Controls (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000AXW7SA/ref=ox_ya_oh_product)
IPOD
Pioneer Sirius adapter
Antenna Adapter
Nav Bezel painted by Daniel
Metra Adapter for the Bezel.

QUESTIONS:

1. It comes with a GPS Antenna, its about the size of a fig newton, where does that need to be located?

2. What about the mic for the bluetooth - visor????

3. It has this IPOD cable. (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B001KM4WTM/ref=s9_simz_gw_s1_p23_t1?pf_rd_m=ATVPDKIKX0DER&pf_rd_s=center-4&pf_rd_r=15W8V033EK83VQ81JCC7&pf_rd_t=101&pf_rd_p=470939031&pf_rd_i=507846) Why does it have that long plug and a USB???? Remember I am IPOD stupid. never even held one

4. sirius: I have Sirius. I bought a Pioneer Sirius Interface thing. LIKE THIS (http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/B0012N9ROE/ref=ord_cart_shr?%5Fencoding=UTF8&m=A18ACDNYOEMMOL&v=glance) MY QUESTION: Am I going to now need a Sirius box or am i going to be able to connect this to that and use the baby shark fin antenna ???

FUTURE:

JL Audio StealthBox
JL AMP for Sub

Hey rob! Don't have a clue on the whole Sirius thing...I would put your Bluetooth near the center of the overhead console, driver side of the sunglasses holder, or visor like you said...just away from the window is what I am thinking. I am new to the whole Apple thing as well, but this looks like your Pioneer has a USB in the back or front of it. That along with the RedWhiteYellow audio/video cable, provide audio and video through your headunit and the USB will charge the iPod through its main connection. If you use an iPod I would def use this, and you could create a docking station right above the shifter on the center console. Or just run that cable into glove box or under armrest OR left cubby next to the pedal raise/lower function. Hope that helps...somebody chime in if I am full of it haha

1. The factory location for the GPS antenna is above the instrument cluster.

http://www.wkjeeps.com/nav/nav_antenna_wk_02.jpg

2. The uConnect mic is built into the rearview. I could try to put the Pioneer mic somewhere close to that.

3. You can plug the USB into the radio, and then connect the iPod to the other end.

4. I think you might also need Pioneer SC-C1. The part you bought says this on pioneer's website "For use with Pioneer "SAT Radio Ready" Headunits and AV Receivers. Sirius Satellite Radio subscription required, sold separately. SC-C1 required for operation and sold separately." You won't be using the factory Sirius tuner - but you should be able to use the factory antenna.

The Fig newton can go in your tummy and the antennas usually get run along the windshield and put on the roof at the top of the window.

Otherwise sounds good.

Thanks guys. these answers really help the geezer.

ok so mic up top near center console/visor.

IPOD cable: I know the red/wht/yel connects to the radio. BUT still not clear what the other 2 do. the USB and the long connector are at one end of the cable. so its like they would be used in the same way. Im going to dump these intop the glove compartment for now.

gps antenna: i know the factory one goes in the dash on top of the nav. but its a lot bigger than this 'fig newton' sized one. and kyle said up top. CAN it go up under the headliner?

SIRIUS: right I need the SCC1, i got one of those too.

for the iPod cable - you will hook the USB directly into the head unit if it has a USB port on it, which is probably does. If that is the case, you will not be using the red/white/yellow. If not, you'll plug the RCA's into the radio, and then the longer, flatter connector will plug directly into your iPod.

The GPS antenna needs a clear view of the sky (i.e., no metal in front of it) so under the headliner will not work. The factory nav antenna is about the size of a fig newton as well, and it goes on top of the instrument cluster, not the nav radio itself. Use some double sided tape if you need to to sick it up under the dash somewhere (towards the front of the dash - the antenna will work through the plastic dash and the windshield). Usually Sirius radio antennas are placed outside of the vehicle (outside of the sunroof), but GPS antennas can go in the dash. However if the cord is long enough, you could route the cord up the A-pillar and to the sunroof and place it right outside of that if you wanted to.

I see most people with the satellite radio antennas on the drivers side top corner of the windshield on the body of the car. or pass side.

I agree. He should be able to use the factory Sirius antenna though (located in the center of the roof towards the rear of the truck), and then if he wants he can wire the GPS antenna through the dash, up the A-pillar, to the sunroof and out to the roof. That is what I would do anyway!

my jeep has the sat radio antenna, its in the rear, little shark fin thingy. im hoping i can interface with that....

Do you mean through the sunroof? Wouldn't that make it leak?

for the gps.

will it be easy to run the wire around the sunroof stuff without causing any problems.

For the GPS antenna I'd make it easy and just run it to the front of the dash by the little round sensor. Perfectly clear line of sight. Or you could run it up an A-pillar then across the headliner/windshield track and then have it dump right next to the rear view mirror/sensor thingy. I wouldn't go beyond the front windshield for line of sight - it's the most horizontal window on the Jeep.

Sounds like you know that you should use the USB for iPod input. This will charge the iPod, obviously play it, and you will have all of the information (playlist, artist, songs, etc.) show up on your F90 screen... with the stereo input (red/white plugs) it will only play music from the iPod and nothing else.

I'm not sure if the factory Sirius antenna will interface with the aftermarket units... if not, then I'd run this antenna in line with the GPS antenna as they both need line of sight and you will only do labor once.

A member here mounted his bluetooth mic flush with the nav bezel... that seems like a perfect location for it. If you search you should find some install pics of it... you can PM him for install instructions.

We've installed qute a few of these Pioneer F90's and i have a few bits of advice. Generally we put the BT mic at the top of the driver's side a-pillar,pointing at the driver. The mic is directional and we've found that if it's in the middle of the vehicle or elsewhere,it sometimes will pick up other background noises while driving, making it harder for the other person to hear,or it will pick up everything the other passengers say.

The factory gps antenna uses a different style of plug and the cable is not the type that can have the Pioneer's end spliced onto it. It does require line of sight but since there are so many gps sat's,the location is not terribly critical. Matt suggested on the dash,up by the temp sensor, and that has worked well for us,but the BEST location is up high on the body of the vehicle. If you don't like how that looks, down low on the windshield, there is a spot that doesn't interfere with the wipers and it can be put there,it blends in cause the whole area is black.
The sat radio antenna is a little more finicky and I strongly suggest it be put outside, either alongside the gps antenna or on the roof, just over the windshield with the cable hidden inside the windshield trim. If you center it on the vehicle,it doesn't look to bad.

I mounted my Blue tooth Mic at the top corner of the A pillar by the wind shield, its in a pretty direct path of speaking and if its not it can always be easily moved.

Ok. Everything is here and I have some doubts to my capability of getting this done. TO feel like I did something, I installed the Kicker Amp in the back. that went rather smoothly.

SO CAN YOU GUYS WALK ME THRU THE WIRING STUFF, YOU THINK???

I have the unit Pioneer F90BT.

I can handle the blutooth mic, thats a non issue.
GPS Antenna, i need to pull the instrument bezel and get it way under there near the windshield. got it.

Now here is where it gets dicey for me:

I have this mess:

then i got this thing

QUESTION: IS my OEM Sat antenna going to work with this set up?

QUESTION: where do I even start with all the wiring and interfaces. UGH.

Who is here in Denver can help??????????

Out doing their own stereos. LOL

I just got finished installing my new kenwood deck in mine.

I literally just installed that PAC unit in to my WK. Plus the RCA wires in to the back of the Pioneer head unit. Match the colors of the RCA wires to the LF RF LR RRetc, The instructions should be pretty fool proof and should have all colors listed.

I dont know anything about sirius stuff.

The steering wheel controls should be easy, that one plug should plug in to the cd player, then the wires should get connected to the original pac module. (thats what my audio shop told me, my steering wheel controls are not in yet. but there should be a total of two modules needed for the steering wheel controls. )

an update: everything is installed and working. I just asked the installer to come back to adjust what some of the steering wheel controls control. thats it.

I was able to use the factory sirius antenna so no extra holes. the gps ant is up uder the dash......

all the kicker stuff is sinstalled.

not sure why, and it was well documented, I lost f/r fade. otherwise, we utilized all the factory wiring.

Nice, glad to hear it all is operating smoothly.

I'm guessing you lost f/r fade because the Kicker amp uses a summing input for the factory wiring/amp (basically sums all of the signals into one signal - the front door 6x9's are low-passed at the amp, the dash speakers are high-passed at the amp and I'm guessing the rears are a full-range signal... the Kicker amp sums these three signals into one full range signal to be used for the Kicker amp) and therefore cannot now distinguish a front a rear signal.

Questions:

Did the factory Sirius antenna interface with the SCC1?
Where is the factory Sirius antenna located (at the receiver or the amp)? I don't remember seeing it at the receiver...?

Hi Matt,

the OEM sirius box is located across from the amp in the rear passenger side.

so i bought the scc1 and the factory sat antenna plugged right into it.

then i ran new wires from the scc1 to the Pioneer CD-SB10 to interface with my pioneer and put it under the dash.
