Was thinking of buying the chrome window trim. But I wont have the rear quarter panel covered. Do you think it will look weird?
Here is a photoshop I provided. Top pic with quarter panel chrome, Bottom is without. Slight difference, but will it look off?
Thanks to Elvis, Used his pic for reference.

I did this mod Mamba and the rear windows are pretty cheap on www.car-part.com The problem is if the salvage yard is not close...they dont like to ship them. It only cost me $100 to have my old ones removed and the new ones installed. Also...believe it or not...I sold the black moldings and rear windows for more thasn I paid for the chrome moldings new and the rear 1/4 windowss used.

I actually don't think it looks that bad with the rear quarter left black... that is a pic though. Wonder how it'd look in person.

Wowzers @ the price you got. I'll look into that. I had kausekaos wanting to trade the rear quarter panels a few weeks ago but I havent heard from him or anything. (he wants to black out the srt). So if I cant get the rear quarter, I will just leave it black.

Yeah I agree. One of our members here DAVY27 has the rear quarter black and rest chrome. Looks kinda good but he wants to get it also.
I just want it to accent the chrome from the brush guard and bumper guards I have. Some people like their cars to have some sort of bling.

I voted no. IMO only do it if you plan on completing the chrome trim. If the rear black is only temt than I understand. I say all or nothing... IMO

Not saying it looks bad without it tho - 'cos it doesn't.

Either do them all chrome or leave them black, my opinion. It looks funny to me only having them below the two front windows. Just my 2 cents, and im anal. I thought about doing it to mine.
I shouldnt say this, but if you have full glass coverage on ur auto insurance, it would suck if the rear cargo glass were to both get smashed. But you can have it replaced with the chrome molding which is the same price. wink.

paul if u manage to get the rear quarter glass, hit me up. prolly get a discount for 2x pairs!!! :D
Yeah I would have to agree with some others and say all or nothing. But that said it doesn't look all too bad without the rear qtr, but a bit off.

paul i think there's a rear quarter glass chrome $100 on car-part. researched it and u might be interested. hopefully it'll fit for the 08-09's cause i need a pair : )

I am against the grain here...I like it. At first it looked off, but then to me it matched the door panel chrome pieces and IMHO matches the lines of the truck. I do not know what the black moldings look like up close, but if they were painted gloss black I think the transition would look better and finish it off. One problem I think you will have is that if the front piece of the rear door is chrome, there is a small section that is on the rear quarter panel that may look off.
Ok so I think I am neutral on it...BUT if you can make the transition flow properly, I think you are on to something!!!

I'm leaning towards just the chrome molding on the bottom. Just in case I'll decide to remove all the chrome bumpers and such and do a blacked out theme in the coming years. (at least I wont be screwed with the windows)

Cheapest way is to smash both quarter glass and get your insurance to pay for new glass with the chrome if you have glass breakage.

When I bought my truck (had purple front tint), within the first week I changed that crap out. The tint guys were amazed at how cheap the tint was and the glue or adhesive used was so weird it was cheap smelly glue that was in globs. Thank god I changed those out, felt like Prince after a while with all that purple lol.

Dont rice out your Jeep. Keep the Chrome subtle. I say add the window moldings and thats it.
Then go get your push bar and rear bumper bar powdercoated gloss black.
Megatron
09-28-2009, 09:18 PM
Hm.............................lol @ rice.
I know. I just want something to accent the bodylines of the jeep. The moldings would be great but Im anal and I would the rear quarter asap. Maybe if I get ahold of calvin then maybe that could work.
If i get the window moldings then most def NO chrome handles.. too ghetto for me
Watch in 5 months the whole front is gonna be black LOL.....chrome will be all gone. idk idk.. back to the drawing board.
