Heya guys, it's in the "common faults and issues" thread, but figured some of you might like to know that yesterday my dealer replaced my slightly worn leather steering wheel under warranty without arguing at all.
Now, I'm unsure it the wheel is new or a recovered example, but the leather has a much nicer grain, feels softer, and feels much better than the original.

I wish i could get my wheel replaced under warranty but its an 05 with almost 70k so i doubt theyd do it.
I am gonna buy a new laredo Vinyl wheel from jeepsareus.com for about $150 ish. still waiting on a price.
I had a brand new TJ Wrangler Vinyl steering wheel in my 98 XJ and it was more comfortable and durable then the leather one IMHO.

I get along with my dealer's service advisor quite well, he suggested even when mine's out of warranty, "not to worry ;)"

Maybe if you guys stop using your wheel like your peckers, the wheel wouldn't go out so fast

On the side note, when the wheel got all beat up on my ZJ, I just replaced it with a $10 wheel cover from autozone. That felt much better than my OEM wheel. In fact, I was just thinking about doing that to my MKZ.

Barf, i cant stand bulky steering wheel covers. I dont like it to feel like the steering wheel has a 3" diameter grip.

It did take some time to get use to it but after it was all said and done, I still liked it. It was a bitch to get on tho....
