View Full Version : Do your Eibachs look like this?

Im curious, I bought a set of used Eibachs for my WK but now im really thinking they are the srt Eibachs. My WK sits really low now, was up against an srt8 last week and mine is def lower. I luv it, but im just curious how peoples WK's sit with WK Eibachs compaired to mine.

It looks great! I'd guess that those are SRT Eibachs. Are both struts leaking?

Just the passenger side, I noticed a big oil stain on my concrete driveway last sunday, after a road trip to Rhode Island the day before. I remember hitting a big bump on the highway where they were doing construction at a bridge.
Here is the stain I noticed, its pretty big.

Scott is hooking me up by sending me his WK struts which im grateful for. Now i just need to go slower and watch out for things like that, its not a "4x4" anymore. Lol.

Thanks for the compliment, I really appreciate it. I have spent hours and hours just staring and thinking what I can do and then modding it trying to make it stand out and look the best I can.

I actually luv comments like that, what people think I can do to "upgrade". I do like the chrome strip on the rear bumper, but keep in mind i have the laredo and no chrome door or window moldings, so that wouldnt really match. If anything I was thinking rear srt bumper, and 09 front bumper(which includes $$$ swapping grill ad headlights) or doing 06 srt front bumper.
Anyone else with ideas, please, pick apart my WK and let me know your thoughts. Im open for any ideas at this point. You guys are the best, always great advice.

Man thats sexy right there man!! im preying my H&R springs drops mine like that...How do u like the ride??
I will try and give my best discription of it. With these Eibachs in now there is little to no "body roll" I call it going around highway on and off ramps, the Jeep seems to stay level but I can tell all the stress is now directed on the tires. (which is prob to be expected). Before with the stock springs i'd be on the highway, hit a bump and the Jeep seemed to go up and down 3-4 times before settling, now with these Eibachs the Jeep hardly moves, going up once but then quickly settling and staying there. These springs are very stiff, I actually stood on the rear bumper trying to make the rear end go up and down but it hardly moves.
As the pix above show, the eibach springs are already compressed so there is little movement. When i go over bigger bumps I feel it, kinda like I ran over a brick in the road, but smoother bumps the springs absorb it and dont even notice.
Basically the roads here in Massachusetts blow and I will def ruin my rims or suspension if I am not always aware of the road conditions now. Right in downtown there are still the old cobblestone roads which I cant go over more than 5 mph now or im being bounced around or feels like my rim is bottoming out. But IMO these eibachs I have are prob the best lowering springs to get, basing from what I see daily with other lowered vehicles where they obviously just cut the stock springs and the car goes up and down like a boat. Now I can forget about ever taking my Jeep offroad, with these springs i feel i will def blow a shock out going too fast over a bigger bump. But then again I never plan on taking my bitch offroad.

No part numbers or any paperwork. I bought them from jeepaholic when I posted a "want to buy" thread for lowering springs. They came nicely packed in there own seperate boxes packed in one big box. And I luv them and def glad I found such a great deal and got sent what I have. I have to say when I first talked to jeepaholic about buying them I asked if I was able to return them if they happened to not be the correct springs to fit and he said no problem, so I would def buy something from him again since he is 100% for real and legit.

Oh, and I just noticed on J4J they now list the rear srt sway bar seperate, 82 bucks and bushings another 10 bucks for the pair. That is my next suspension mod, can only dream how my Jeep will take corners after installing that.
I think I might of had something to do with it, I emailed them asking if they will price match other web sites prices for just the sway bar. hehe. J4J=awesome!!

well since your ok with it I'd say since I think the old front bumper looks fine, you should get the chrome molding on the side or smoothe out the one you have and paint it black. And if you did get the limited's bumper I was going to say go ahead and paint the rear crome body color (not just black lol). Oh and a wing wouldn't hurt either.

Whats up Timmy. Ride looks amazing as usual.
Here are my suggestions.
1. SRT conversion - Major Money $$$pent. Looks good though.
2. Painted side moldings - Since you have no chrome accents on anything. This
would provide for a much cleaner look. A subtle change, but definitely worth it for your
jeep.
3. Painted Side Mirrors - same reason as above. Subtle but worthwhile in the end.
4. Stillens - I think you got these done already. Purchased from kyle right?
5. Interior Modifications - Cheap but visually appealing.
http://www.justforjeeps.com/doengu4.htmll] This for example.
Or some SRT pedals. Def worth the 44$. I love mine.
The guys prolly have more ideas so I hope they'll chime in.

I do like it all black and think if i got all the chrome moldings it would look compairable. I'd only do all or nothing though, and buying all the chrome trim adds up. And i have those srt pedals, I think it was one of the first things I ordered along with the locking gas cap from J4J. Stillens im picking up wednesday from Kyle. And your are very right, painting the mirrors, handles and door molding would def add alot to it. Im going to paint the stillens myself, see how they come out and maybe do the mirrors.
I have alot going on right now, stereo, these dam dual led's still dont work right, rear brake led's keep blowing a fuse, have to change out my blown strut now. Its like I cant just sit and enjoy it, oh well. ;)

And I actually took my car off road this past weekend, went camping way up in Maine. I couldnt go more than about 10mph and I was still being bounced around. I took some pix on my cell and i'll try to get em uploaded on here. The other vehicle we went with was a jacked up ford 350 lifted 4". I parked my car and left it there the weekend, took the truck everywhere instead.

Hey timmy...call and talk to Mike at Bwoody. he has some energy suspension rear bumpstops that will help you tremendously....
Call me crazy but I actually like how the rear doesnt hardly move. It does hit somewhat hard going over larger bumps on the highway and i get jounced a bit, but i like how its tight. When I went off road I was really bounced around because I think the lowering springs have such a high compression rate. My car hardly travels up and down now and luv it, sticks to the road. Theres a highway off ramp i always take, and each time I try to take it faster and faster, so far i got it going 55mph and with hardly any body roll, if thats what you call it. The car seems to stay flat.
If anything I want to get the srt rear sway bar like you recommended in the suspension thread, I can only imagine how great it would handle after that.
The roads here in MA blow, but in Maine over the weekend there highways are nice and repaved and it was awesome.

The jeep looks great. Have you put the Stillens on yet? Any pics?
I hate how my jeep "Floats" over bumps on the Highway. I usually cruise at 75ish and its annoying going over bumps like that. But i still need the stock ride height because i drive alot of country roads. Scott told me that buying the Bilstein Struts and rear shocks should get rid of that "float" that i get one the highway. Then i want SRT sways.

Yup, I meant you. Lol.
I am actually back and forth in the basement sanding the stillens right now then prime and paint. I wasnt able to get the PXR black at a local store so I got black metallic and see how that looks. With these srt eibachs the car goes up once but then quickly settles and stays down. Its tight. But I did take it off rad last weekend camping and i was being thrown around, so def not good even on dirt roads.

I did them with my cousin on a saturday in my driveway. It was actually easy. I needed a compressor I got off ebay for removing the front springs but the eibachs are shorter a compressor wasnt needed, the strut nut fits right on. I had a hard time getting the rear shock bolts out, so i just used the compressor again to remove the stock springs and mount the eibachs. That was a good 12 hour day, but stopped to drink and cook on the grill. Plus im alot better at it now that ive done it before. Then 2 weekends back I swapped out a front blown strut by myself in my driveway. Took about 2 hours.

I luv how it sits, though the ride is def stiff now. Stiff in a way that its really tight over bumps, get bounced around but it sticks to the road like crazy. I stood on the rear bumper before and it doesnt hardly move up and down when jumping on it. Going fast around highway on and off ramps im able to go double than I would with the stock springs in it with no roll at all. Rides like a sports car now. And i was on the highway the other day in traffic, some kid next to me rolled his window down and asked me what I did to my WK and if it was lowered, he said he was looking into buying a GC and luved how mine looked. I told him springs, ground effects kit, and the srt rep rims is all it needs to look great like mine. Plus red painted calipers, srt grill, stillens, and removing the roof racks wouldnt hurt either. Im really thinking about getting the srt front bumper now because it looks sick and would make my WK look alot lower.

timmy, i love the drop, this is exactly what ive been wanting to see. the 1inch drop the regular eibach springs give u on the jeep seemed pointless when i wanted to drop my car. how much of a drop would u say u got from these srt eibachs? i have 22's and i think it would look good when i elimante that big gap between my tire and fenders.
looks like u have many mods on your jeep, only things i can think that you havent mentioned is remote start alarm, vinyl top(although ur car is dark) , and a roof wing. Somethings that might be a lil too flashy but just ill just throw it out there anyway, lambo doors, headrest tvs, things u dont see on a jeep everyday.
TimmyB
01-27-2010, 03:30 PM
I never took the time to exactly measure the drop with the springs but its 2"+ in the rear. I have parked next to two SRT8's and I was lower than both of them, so im assuming they had stock springs. I have done alot to my WK over time. It all just came to me, like searching ebay and finding deals so I went with it. I looked at the wing and dont like it, my roof is black so no need for vinyl, and im having just an OEM alarm installed since i dont already have one and dont want to carry an extra fob thing around. The remote start is a good feature, but for the cost my Jeep heats up quick enough that I cant justify buying one.
