Is this possible? I'm kicking around the idea of having 3M's Black Chrome window tint applied to the few remaining pieces of chrome on my WK for a different look (not that my WK looks like your typical WK). It might turn out looking like crap, but I thought I might try if it's technically feasible.

Maybe spray tint in a can with a glossy clear coat over it might be better. I'm interested to see how it turns out.

I think vinyl might be your best bet.

Okay, so window tint won't work (it's not mold-able and the adhesive is meant for inside use). On to plan B. Would paint stick to vinyl? Also need to find a solution for the backup sensors - can't have everything else Black Chrome and keep the (silver) chrome dots.

trim brite tape looks good on the window trim.

Pretty sure you can paint the sensors with no problems.. look at just about every other vehicle on the road with sensors in the bumper, they're painted to match.

I think you need to contact "Daniel" and do it right. He does great paint work from what I've heard.. http://www.jeepgarage.org/forumdisplay.php?f=26

I'm with Nate,i like the idea of a blackened chrome on what I have left. IDK say chrome with a 30% 40% black tint.

I know this is old, but it was something that bugged me too

After not being able to get the trim brite tape dead on, and having air bubbles all over the place, I just took it into a shop and they painted all the chrome to match the body color... Really sets the jeep apart
