So I am confused. I took my CRD into the dealership this morning for it's 70,000 k service. Since they neglected to do a bunch of stuff at the 60,000K service, they are combining it.

Anyway, the service tech said her maintenance book instructions indicate that Chrysler Canada recommends the fuel filter be changed every 20,000 km. I already operate my Jeep under maintenance schedule "B" because I tow etc etc, but that seems ridiculous. According to the maintenance schedule on the link provided by this forum, it says every 25,000 MILES. I have already changed it out once about 20,000 km ago due to putting some diessel fuel in it that wasn't the ultra low sulphur content. Any ideas? Is it a cash grab? I do not remember seeing anything about replacing a fuel filter every 20,000 kms.

25,000 miles or 40,000 kilometers for schedule B. Also keep in mind all automotive diesel in Canada and the US is ultra low sulfur, problem is most pumps just haven't gotten new stickers, but I suppose you were due for a filter anyways.

Well that sense and thanks... but since then, it appears I got a tank full of contaminated diesel. My fuel tank had gasoline in it and I have never filled my tank with gasoline... not even had a partial brain cramp where I would have started to put gas in it. .... so it cost me a few hundred extra dollars on my scheduled service....
