Ok guys. I got the Neffy wrap. its like cloth CF. There is another thread about the product.
So I started with the a-pillar. I was worried about the 'handle' but i tried it as is first. I strecthed the neffy over the handle tight like a drum. but you could still see an outline of it once it dried.

here you can see the handle hole>>>> NG!
http://i300.photobucket.com/albums/nn11/robpp/neffywrap/neffy3.jpg
so that failed. so i have now made 2 fillers pieces of plexi and epoxy them in. then fill with bondo nad sand. One is done and looks pretty good.

here is what the garage looked like after a few hours..........

so tomorrow, finish body work on both, wrap and install........we hope.

No it wasn't payback. :)
I like that material. I would like to see the Nav bezel and speedo cluster wrapped in that. I would buy some of this for my Jeep but with the Wood trim it would look ****ing stupid.

yeah joe, all my stuff is painted. I AM NOT PUTTING neffy on top of the paint. on the red site are some pics of an 08 nav bezel and the shifter cover...........

can you get that in an all black instead of the carbon fiber look?? and could you have made it wrap around the handles as well so you could still use em??
btw that pillars gonna get ****edd up if the airbag is everr deployed

Looks factory!!! But why would you want to get rid of the handles? My GF holds on to that 90% of the time she's in the jeep. LOL

I was thinking that too Brad. I wish there was a way to darken my headliner. My old X5 had a black headliner and I loved it....

if I wanted black, i might just paint them using that interior part paint.
maybe I could have kept the handles. but i chose not too. and about the airbags. while most of the interior snaps together, the A pillars are BOLTED to the frame. so not sure about your airbag comment. furthermore, if the airbags do go off, the least of my issues is the a pillars............

09-01-2009, 01:16 PM
Looks damn good though like it came from the factory like that. I wonder if I could do my pillars or grill with that stuff???
robpp
09-01-2009, 01:18 PM
its not hard to work with. you use spray glue so its repositionalble for a while.......
A grill might be cool..............
B.P.O.D
09-01-2009, 01:22 PM
rob how easy is it to take off if you don't like it or it chips or something? will the finish be jeopardized with the glue?
robpp
09-01-2009, 01:32 PM
irf, i had to remove the stuff from that first pillar. and it left lots of glue residue. at that pint, it was either make neffy work or get a new pillar.............
maybe on metal you could get all the glue off but i am not sure on plastic. acetone reomoved the glue from my hands!

What about the door pillars? You think it's a good product to use on them?
Scottina06
09-01-2009, 01:48 PM
its fabric...so it would have to be cleared on the exterior
robpp
09-01-2009, 01:51 PM
neffy says it holds up pretty good exterior as is.
but I agree with scott, for longevity, clear it!

09-01-2009, 02:15 PM
Really??? I may buy some and experiment.....
robpp
09-01-2009, 02:23 PM
it cost you 35 to try it out. plus some spray glue.
go to neffywrap.com. check the gallery.

09-01-2009, 05:32 PM
Is it pretty easy to keep the pattern aligned? or does the fabric stretch and you have to keep aligning the pattern so it looks right?
Oh and your Pillar looks awesome. Great work on filling the handle in and making it one piece. I like that. Plus 100x easier to wrap it haha.
robpp
09-01-2009, 05:34 PM
I didnt pay attention to the pattern and there really is no need.
even the bolt covers dont look bad and they dont match at all.
you just strectch it out to get it smooth and around and over stuff. its real thin, .4 mil, so its easy to work with. I am a novice at this stuff.

You should see what a shop would charge to replicate the Stealthbox... it may end up being cheaper.

Yeah, it pretty much uses all the negative space behind the rear seats... cargo tray still fully functionable as well as the cargo shade.
Not to mention a hell of a lot cheaper than a Stealthbox, lol.

this was a cheap mod troy. I have about 100 invested, now time is a different story. Its about 4 days so far. I have one B and one D left to do. Oh and maybe that piece that goes across the very back. then add some LEDS to that strip too.
For me troy, its always been like this. it came from my Dad. He loved cars. He only knew so much as far as keeping them running and fixing them but he always did his own maintenance and stuff. And mods. When I was a little guy, like 7, he bought a Triumph TR4A. I swear I can remember crawling under it with Pops and him letting me squeeze the grease gun while he was lubing it. He also taught me to shift and all he had to say was 3rd gear, I was one it. He worked the clutch but the shifter was mine.
In recent life I always ahd Harleys to mod and F with but I sold my last bike in 04 after i trashed my back. I had surgery for one disc in 07 but I really should go for at least one more disc. So with no Bikes to mod, i turned to my Jeep. with the way of the 'NEW NORMAL' if we ever figure out what that is, I figure Im keeping the WK for a while, it has lifetime powertrain so who knows I couyld own this for a while. I might as well make it mine!
anyway............

robpp

you need to remove the little door. on both b and c there is a small screw under that holding it on.
it was a year ago. on one of them i had to remove the belt, B IIRC.

Do you think the Neffy material is thin enough to wrap the Door Switch Bezels and the Dash/shifter trim; while still allowing it to fit back on without issue?
Really can't stand this wood grain imitation crap.... looks like a laminate peeled from a bowling ball!
Replacements from Just4Jeeps is over $600.00 USD to replace.
