(someone buy this Jeep plz!)
98 5.9 LTD: NV3550 5spd w/ Dodge Ram 5spd PCM. Vortech V2. Sanderson headers and 3" to rear. Crane Hi6R w/ adjustable. SCT tuner on way. Going to be SC'd 408 or bigger cube NA eventually.
Drivetrain and body still "as built" by Duke of JU SF - plus some custom body work courtesy of a cell phone talkin' mini cooper driver.
Maybe I've seen the movie Christine too many times - I expected it would have repaired itself by now - but since it looks like I'll have to repair it myself, after the new fender and door go on it will be restored to solid Platinum, re-badged and back to 5.9 rims or other 5 spoke wheels.

Radically re-wired, will probably include FAST or IEMS3 alongside factory PCM (gotta pass emissions)

I'd sooo buy that 9'er if you weren't so damn far away!
very nice bro! I look forward to your transformation!
Thanks! I'm hoping to transform from fast to REAL F'N FAST :)
Now thats a lot of Jeeps! Very nice collection!
One too many I'm afraid. In fact I'm getting fed up dealing with emissions on the 5.9s. Thinking how nice it would be to have a 67 Dart again.
the 5.9 you bought for a parts car looks mint....whats up wih it?
Had a cracked left upper control arm body bracket and a lien title that the PO didn't know how to clear.
Nice $200 welding job and a few inquiries to the bank listed as the lienholder - and one 5.9 back on the road!
Guy I bought it from was the second owner. First owner owned a couple of car washes and obviously kept it highly detailed. When the second guy got it, looks like he used it as a work vehicle so it got some wear and tear at that point.
He was parting it out but wasn't getting the response he was looking for, I called him about a couple of parts - ended up with the whole Jeep minus the headliner and ATC HU that he had already sold.
That exactly how I ended up with the Dark Slate one too!
I love ur collection, is the 5.2 the only one running now?
oh hellz no!
They are all running and drivable - in fact the only one that isn't insured and registered is the Dark Slate light weight build.
The 242 I've been using as my DD for the past month. Friday I took the covers off the 93 and the 5spd and blasted around town for a bit to keep 'em from getting too stale.
The only one I don't drive regularly is the Stone White, cuz that's at my "almost ex" wifes so she can use it as a backup for when her 99 WJ breaks down every third day!
kinda pissed I got a case of 5.9 greed when that Dark Slate came around. I had that light weight build planned around an early Base Model ZJ. That's the lightest ZJ you can start with, very few options, not even any door cladding - and no emissions in MA cuz it's OBD1!
I'd sooo buy that 9'er if you weren't so damn far away!
aww c'mon - MA to GA? That's a hop skip and a jump away! :)

unless your perpared to have it delivered to my drive way I don't think that I'd be able to buy it.... :(
...not to mention the two parts cars.
94 5.2 LTD. Hit hard left rear door. Got lots of good parts - engine/trans/tcase went to 5.2zjkid of JU and SFN.

98 5.2 LTD. Sweet sweet ride. This belonged to my landlord's sons friend.
I knew how the kid drove so I told landlord's son to let me know when he crashed it.
The very same day I got the 94 delivered - I got the call. I'm like wtf, he couldn't have crashed this before I bought the 94? LOL :)
Other than the right rear that got hit almost everything about it except the driver's door panel was mint .
Dark Slate too - that was not a 5.9 only color.

ditto on that ^. Very easy to keep running too.
I don't think that's actually a 5.9 armrest. I believe it's just the leather quality that separates them though. That one had the agate interior like a Niner but there were a lot of differences.
Woodgrain is different, leather is diff grade and diff stitch design on seats. Door panels don't have leather inserts and plain shifter handle. Not sure about the steering wheel - I had mine 5.2 and 5.9 wheels together and couldn't tell much of a difference.
Dash, console and all side trim was the same.
5.2 LTD has the agate A pillar but the B & Cs and the headliner were a kind of grayish beige.
For all of that though - if I jumped right in one I wouldn't notice the difference except the headliner color.

Thank you and... be careful what you wish for. Need lots of parts for my light weight build - how far away are you again? LOL :)

Love the collection John. Too bad I cant have a collection like that. It would cost me 2500 a month alone in parking! LMAO
So only one 500 a month parking spot is enough for me. LOL

500 @ freakin month!! O - M - G!! That officially calls for this smiley -> :eek:
oh ya - I forgot you're down in insaneville - you guys gotta pay condo prices for in-city yearly parking :(
So move a bit further away from the big apple - and get more Jeeps!!
Actually I gotta get my own place soon. I lucked out in being able t have as many as I have now.
One stays at my "almost exes" and three are at the home of my elderly neighbors that actually live full time in CowHampshire and keep the house next door for family visits etc.
Like I told a friend that does real estate - I'm looking for a multi-car garage and a big*ss driveway - and oh ya, I suppose there outta be a house of some kind too LOLz
I had originally planned the lightweight build around one of these puppies - the ultra rare Base Model ZJ. I've never actually seen one in person and I've found that even a lot of ZJ aficianados had never heard of them.
These were made 93 to 94 or 95 only. Some came with zero options, as in roll up windows etc. but I believe options could be ordered with it. I believe some even had the 5.2. Having a hard time finding out much about them or the options available on this model. Steel wheels, no roof rack etc.
Not sure if they ever made AC delete - wouldn't that be something!?!
Still kinda wishing I had gone this way since OBD1 emissions testing went away October 2008 in MA. That means I could have run anything from standalone to maybe even a carb, used painless wiring etc.
As it stands now the light weight will have to pass OBD2 emissions which means all systems will have to be online and "ready"
Ready means they have to have gone through enough cycles or driven enough to obtain readings - so that means you can't disco the battery to erase codes right before you go for testing.
The electric components - PCM, BCM cluster etc are tied in via twisted pair data wiring which has to stay in place to keep it all working - would you believe the PDM (Passenger Door Module) has the radio receiver for the security system? It has to remain connected if you want to disarm or open it via the keyfobs.
I will be using a Dodge Ram 5spd PCM with the 727 to eliminate the auto trans data. Will be having hemifever tune it through SCT, however I had a nice talk with SDCE and they explained that no matter what magic the SCT folks can work with our PCMs there are inherent limits in attainable performance due to the architecture of the PCM itself.
I think I've found a way around that by borrowing slightly on an idea of Daryll's (quikzj on JU SF, sfn etc) He runs a FAST, then swaps harnesses back to pass inspection.
I plan on building a standalone system INTO the wiring and using a combo of secondary sensors and and extra connectors so I can cut the standalone out of the system (while leaving it in place) by swapping or unplugging connectors. Seen my wiring? I can do it ha ha :)
So I'll be using SCT to get it running and passable with the big cube motor, then swapping over to standalone mode on race day (or as soon as I pull out of the inspection station w/e - ROFLz)
Was planning this around the FAST system but "flyin Ryan" aka Sleepy4.7 turned me onto iEMS3 so I'm giving that some thought too.
So, back to the Base Model ZJ: It has it's own digits in the VIN that identify it as being other than a Laredo or Limited edition.
Ever seen one?

Check out the roll ups! Dig that two piece console too - although this one is a manual trans Euro model ZG. Not sure if we had the two piece or not or if it was available with auto trans either.
