Does anyone have any information whether the SRT has been/will be going to do the Nürburgring track in Germany?
I would to see how it compares against the Germans!

I'd love to know the answer to this question.
When the 2011 JGC was announced, I called Jeep and asked if it would be tested, tuned, or at least run on the Nurburgring. They had no info and said it was unlikely.
I think any vehicle that claims to be a "performance" orientated one needs to run the ring.

Yeah, Id bet they had a test at the ring with all the new chassis/suspensions! Wed never know it but some of that data from testing is probably crucial in final design changes or maybe even just for #s sake. Id say it was but not sure if thats confirmed. I see above, but was that the SRT8?

It would may no sense to run it on the ring without the big brakes and tires.

Well DOH!
What makes you think they didn't? Those pictures are not the stock 20" tire and it's impossible to make out the brakes.

That picture is of a standard GC.... Those pics were released way the hell back in early 2010 well before any SRT production was available for testing.
And for the record those wheels certainly wouldn't clear the brembos and those tires are clearly not 295s.

I think you mis-read the posts. We were suggesting that based on that photo that is obviously not an SRT8 and we have never seen/heard any evidence that an SRT8 was tested at the ring. Thus, we came to conclude that we are unsure if it ever occurred. I bet it did just because it makes sense for them to test it there but your guess is as good as mine :)

So you're saying you dont think those are 20's?

No. I'm saying those rims will not clear the brembos. It doesn't really matter as the picture is a mystery and adds no value at this point and time. Any numbers that matter will need to come from the production vehicle. // UNSUBSCRIBED

The Jeep may not look like an SRT from the out side but who is to say that its not a 6.4 under the hood? They may have started with a limited and just changed out the engine and suspension and brakes.

I'm actually hoping that pic is of a Standard WK2.
The "standard" BMW X5, Porsche Cayenne, and even the Acura MDX were all tested and tuned on the Nurburgring... why not the WK2?!?
If it wants to play in the Big Boys playground, it better bring its A game.
