One never responded (until a few minutes ago) and the other was incredibly helpful and in fact called me Tuesday and asked if I could get there because they could order one right then if I wanted. Well, I waited until yesterday morning and ordered and got a VON#.
A few minutes ago the other dealer calls and says they will be getting 2 of them. The Manager talked to the Chrysler rep and he said you cant order them yet.
I proceeded to thank him for getting back with me but I had ordered one yesterday (It had been three days since I asked if he could help me). He said that is impossible and the dealer I had ordered from isn't even going to get one. His dealership was getting 2 and that was only because they sell more GC's than anyone else. :slapfight:
So he placed a little doubt in my mind. I am thinking if this dude thinks you can't order them yet how can 1) he know he is getting two of them and 2)How can he know where I ordered mine from is getting none?
Thoughts?

He wasn't going to order one for you, he was going to tell you he did and then tell you in a month or two that they only got 2 in and you need to pay $10K extra to get one of them.. :D :(

The second dealer has no idea what the first dealer's allocation is, he's either blowing smoke up your ass or his Jeep rep is blowing smoke up his ass and he's just repeating it.

If the first dealer has a VON then the order has been accepted. Whether he has allocation isn't something you can determine independently, you are stuck with the word of the dealer until it goes to C status and is assigned a VIN, then you know it will get built. At least that's how I understand the system to work.

If the first dealer can give you a printout of the VON and you see something like 4EA - Sold Vehicle and/or 4H4 - Special Scheduling Condition VII then it's probably passed the allocation phase and is in the pipeline.
