Saw this Jeep for sale near me, Called up to question it. Fought with the salesman about whether or not it was a fake SRT8 or a repainted SRT8. He denied both, I ran the VIN and it is an SRT, But it has certainly been repainted. He argued that this is factory paint and he could gaurantee it. I told him the colors that SRT's were offered in. He claimed it was a one owner non accident vehicle, But the color change makes me doubt that..

What do you guys think?

^That and the color code on the door is PSB. Which is Bright Silver Metallic.

Tell the salesman that you can def prove that it isnt factory and that if you are right, you will be able to buy it for 10k. LOL

Well that's the only reason I called, I knew it was repainted, I know more about these Jeeps than most Jeep dealers! I would never sell a high milage gas guzzler to buy a previously wrecked high milage gas guzzler! haha I just don't like seeing shitty salesman pass it off as something it isn't.

He even said "when I prove my point to you, will you buy the whole shop a coffee?" I said "yeah sure, if when you find your self wrong you drop the price $10k"

what a dummy. shows you, yet again, to stay away from used car dealers like that. how hard it is to go to ANY jeep site and see an srt in that color doesnt exist. like that fade from silver to mineral gray in the rear bumper area...bad blend/respray.

i do however like that combo...if only it was real.

EDIT: when did 2006 srts come with a fully painted front bumper? makes you question every other car at that dealer.

The paint looks awful. It's got more orange peel than a factory paint job, which takes some sucky painting to accomplish.

That Jeep has about 97K miles on it. Still a lot of miles for the money.

Absolutely. Also it's in CAD, But it's still overpriced even by canadian pricing.

Not to mention it has probably been in a serious accident. The problem is they're selling it as a one owner no accident vehicle and I just highly doubt it. It's a $10,000 jeep... At most.

I'm not too sure if its been in an accident. Maybe an owner that has more money than he/she knows what to do with it had it painted to their likening. Can carfax check Canadian cars?

Scottina06
06-16-2011, 01:24 PM
yeah...he couldve hated silver and had it repainted...although poorly. My Jep has never been in any accident ad its had paint work. paint work doesnt always mean wrecked/body damage. Look at all the frame rails, look for bondo work, scratch lines from body work etc.

What Scott says, it doesn't HAVE to mean it's had an accident......... Jeesh!

It's still a pig though.
