I saw a jeep the other day with a flat matte black finish... it was the sickest thing ive ever seen lol I was wondering how much it would be to get my whole car done like that
You're talking at least 10 g's for a professional paint job.
I think Matte finishes are pretty difficult to paint correctly.
Or you can do this for probably a fraction of that.

to do it completely and correctly....the entire jeep has to be stripped down and torn apart. Think of the time and labor costs to do that. All glass, rubber moldings, some interior pieces, bumpers, door handles, etc etc. etc have to be removed. Its not gonna be cheap if done right

Yeap 10g's at least and finding the correct bodyshop to do this is the next step.

I ndont think $10k....but maybe $6-8. Thats what I was told for a complete paint and cerami-clear($1500 just for the ppg ceramiclear)
I just have a feeling matte finishes are more difficult and more expensive to paint for some reason.

You CAN"T have any dings or anything with matte colors. They show really bad... I seen a matte black lambo but it had a kinda copper reflective undertone to it. Looked nice!!!

Yes white is a limited color. They want to keep white classy. so they flood the market with black jeeps so when you see a white one you're like "Wow thats a nice color"

I had a black 1978 GMC shortbed stepside 4X4, black. Was beautiful X10 clean and waxed. Next morning black looks dirty again. I will never have black again.
Red is Inferno RED is THE best color I ever owned!

He has different sets he changes out. The blacked out is for shows mostly he said. He has the painted housing too... I had a black Altima. It looked so sick brand new on the lot with black interior. And once the windows were done it was sicker. But then the spring came with the pollen and I wanted to kill myself. LOL

This is my second black vehicle, and absolutely luv it, when its clean. In spring the yellow pollen all over it sux. I guess im just not picturing a matt black car, wouldnt it get shiney after waxing it? I think it depends on the kind of car that lets you get away with having a crazy color, like the lime green Lambo Gallardo with matching rims I see in the Dupont Registry, would luv to have that car in any color.

Matt,
Yeah, I love the matte black look and always visioned it as a dream since due to the re-spray cost.
But since discovering vinyl wrapping I'm thinking of going down that route. The company do the door jambs etc so it will look pretty seamless. It's also reversible if you get fed up with it or sell the truck - major bonus!
Timmy: You don't wax/polish matte black paintwork, if you put waxes/sealants on them it practically destroys the finish. So its just a case of washing and drying.
Vinyl wraps are also sensitive to wax, but some waxes have been know to work although they are nowhere near as durable as if they were on paintwork but it does help when washing.

I think Marty's right, with flat paint, the more you touch it the shinier the paint gets, I think I read that from the guy with the fully murdered SRT8 Jeep, I think he's on the site somewhere.
That would be the worst if you had shiny spots here and there.
