Any opinions? Anyone know of a product that dries fast and doesn't fly off the wheel and onto the paint and lasts longer than 2-3 days? Please don't say armor all.....

I use Adam's Polishes Super VRT. Looks great, last a long time and no sling after applying.

Just bought a bottle of Meg's Endurance gel yesterday, it is by far the best glossy dressing.

Matte, Zaino stuff is on top.

You can get different levels of gloss depending on how you put it on.

I love that stuff...a bottle lasts me forever because I don't need to re-apply everytime I wash the Jeep. It goes on glossy and then dries a little duller. A 2nd coat really makes it glossy. I've noticed you can knock down some of the sheen if you just give them a quick wipe with a terrycloth.

I spray it on and immediately wipe it off.

I stocked up on Meg's hot shine when it was on sale buy one get one haha ill have to grab some of this next time. I was gonna but I couldnt justify twice the price when I could get 4 bottles of hot shine for the same price. I LOVE hot shine so this stuff must be the shit

I bought a bottle of the Endurance spray to try out, it's good, but I'm sticking with my Hyperdressing. I think it looks more natural, doesn't look oily at all, no matter how much you put on. Water based comes off paint or wheels super easy, it's way way way way way cheaper, and it's just spray and forget, no wiping needed, at all, ever. Unlike with the Endurances spray.

There's a reason it's used all the time by pro detailers, it's the best.

Remember, it's $40 shipped, but it makes a few gallons. Once you compare that you're paying $7 a bottle for the off the shelf stuff, you're getting a much better deal with this product. There is a reason it's a professional line product vs. their off the shelf Wal-Mart line.

It's also great for mixing 1 part product with 3-4 parts water and spraying it on the engine parts. Leaves a nice satin finish on all the stuff. You would not want to do that with the Endurance spray or any other silicone based products.

For tires you can use it 1:1 for super shiny or 1:2 or 1:3 depending on how shiny you like it. I mix it up a lot, but usually do one part product with 2-3 parts water to get a good mix between shine and value.

Coolest thing is, you can touch the tires and get black oily crap all over you or your car.

You probably used too much Endurance. I like the fact that Endurance DOES NOT come off when driving in the rain and there is NO sling.

I really think you used too much.

Using Endurance in the spray bottle allows you to control the shine.

Guys, I do high end detailing. I'm very confident that I know how to use tire dressings. I've made the statement in this thread, even, that if it slings off you're using too much. I'm not using too much, and I'm not knocking the product. I'm just saying that Hyperdressing is better in that it's more cost effective, easier to apply and not have to worry about getting too much on the tires cause it's water based and it evaporates, and it's a nicer more natural looking finish.

I've tried the product you guys are pimping in both it's forms on several cars. Have any of you tried the product I'm talking about yet????

Yes, what you're using is the best stuff you can buy at Wal-Mart, but until you have actually tired what I'm talking about, how can you think it's better or worse.

I say again, there is a reason Hyperdressing is in Meguiar's professional line and Endurance is sold at Wal-Mart. Professional detailers that know what they are doing do NOT use silicone based tire dressings for several reasons.

Again, not knocking the Endurance, just trying to show you a better option, especially for guys with big tires, you need to give it a try.

Spray it on, roll forward until the bottom of the tire is at the top, spray that area, walk away. When it dries you have a nice uniformed black, shiny, new looking tire, with no sling, no hand wiping it, no gunked up white letters from the application pad, and it's a fraction of the cost.

Just trying to show you that there is stuff other than the stuff at Vatozone and Wally world

Now, if you want to spend some money and have a silicone based product that will stand up to water and last for a really long time. And is also the best shit in the world for any of your trim, air dam, bumper pad, etc. etc.

This stuff is amazing. I think it's too expensive to use on tires, but for trim you cannot beat it. It beads water like the trim has been waxed. It literally lasts for months even in weather. I use it on my rubber trim, mirrors, front and rear bumpers (plastic and rubber parts), etc.

It blows Back to Black and the likes out of the water. You can take this stuff and make a faded Wrangler hardtop look like it's brand new in minutes.

I don't have any experience with either product but will post my findings written by a meguiars tech on the meguiar forums.

"Hyper dressing is a great product but was designed for high volume shops, detail shops who are cranking out hundreds of cars per week or month. Being a water based dressing it has its benefits, diluteable (sp?) and having great gloss, however won't last as long as a solvent base dressing.

Our Endurance brand is designed to last weeks not days and is a solvent based dressing so you will get much more durability out of Endurance vs Hyper dressing."

Endurance does last longer, yes.

Does it look better, no

Is it cheaper, hell no

Is it easier to apply, no

Is it less messy, no

Is it easy to get it off of parts you don't want it on, hell no

Is it better for your tires in the long run, no

That being said, if I was doing some low profile tires, sure, I'd throw on some endurance if I had it laying around. But for bigger tires with lots of rubber, hell no, I'm not going to mess with spending more money on a product that I have to rub on a big ass tire with an applicator (really causing a mess if you have white letters) when I can pay less money and just spray on some Hyperdressing and walk away.

Hyperdressing only comes off if you drive in rain, if it's heavy rain then the endurance will not last too long either. Hell, I don't know about you guys, but if I drive in rain, it's time for another cleaning anyway. During that cleaning I'll take 30 seconds and re-spray with a few cents worth of Hyperdressing and be done with it.

Again, both are good products, I'm just wanting to let you guys (especially those of you with lot's of rubber) know that there is a better, cheaper, easier, alternative that most Wal-Mart detail supply shoppers don't know about.

My number 1 issues with tire dressings is how long they last. I like the stuff that last for a long time.

I think you guys are going to like it. I'll never go back to silicone based stuff again on my vehicles. Just be sure to clean all the old stuff off before you use this, it's like mixing oil based paint with water based paint if you don't.

Mix it one part Hyperdressing to, let's say 2 parts water, to see how you like that finish. More concentrated for shiny tires, less for satin finish, but that's a good starting point to see what you think.

#1 Clean tires completely
#2 Spray on generously
#3 Pull forward or back up enough to move the bottom of the tire to the top
#4 Spray the parts you missed the first time
#5 Let it dry completely

I know you said not to say armor all, but theres one kind that comes with a sponge called Armor All Tire Shine, you squirt some in the sponge and apply it around. It keeps the tires looking new and lasts about 5 days

Just wanted to toss a warning out there to everyone that tire wet will F your carpet up. I had a bottle of EagleOne tire wet with the applicator pad attached to the bottle. It fell over in transit and bubbled up the carpet on the spare tire cover (thankfully). It REALLY messed up the carpet, it has raised as much as a few inches and it spread in a 10 inch circle around the spill spot. I tried soaps and several other cleaners to remove immediately after the spill- nothing worked. So be CAREFUL WITH TIRE WET

Yes those silicone based dressing can be harmful to your tires and more. If you want a great value on a good dressing the Meguiar's Hyper Dressing D170 (http://www.detailedimage.com/Meguiars-M43/Hyper-Dressing-D170-P381/128-oz-S1/) is an excellent choice. If you want the longest lasting option I have never found anything even close to the durability of the TUF SHINE Tire Clearcoat (http://www.detailedimage.com/TUF-SHINE-M50/Tire-Clearcoat-P548/6-oz-S1/) (or pick up the whole TUF SHINE Tire Appearance Kit (http://www.detailedimage.com/TUF-SHINE-M50/Tire-Appearance-Kit-P545/). This dressing looks awesome and the gloss will last months, not weeks or days like most others. Check out this article to see some pictures and learn more this product - http://www.detailedimage.com/Ask-a-Pro/product-review-tuf-shine-inc/.

Take care!

I actually used the Meguiars hot foam! pretty cool stuff, since you spray it on and it just eats all the dirt and leaves a shine

bad news is, the can barely has enough for three rounds on a car, and it doesn't last long at all. probably gonna give that hyperdressing a shot on your recommendation DKS
