LEDs all day man...I installed CCFL's and replaced them twice for not working and once for shearing in half...finally learned. Not to mention the inverters and the fire bs. When they worked I liked them but taking into account what you have to do to replace one the more durable LEDs would be the way to go.

I think I found what y'all are talking about: http://www.headlightsupercenter.com/osc/index.php?cPath=77
But can someone provide a link to a write up/diy info about how to do this on the WK(1)???
I actually have previously disassembled and baked headlights (to pry them apart) and like painted the insides black to black them out (like on the new WK2s) so I'm fairly competent I could do this on the WK2.... BUT, I'm not sure if there's an easier way (like it just clicks apart and there is a gasket and no glue anymore) or if it is just not worth it or what you really recommend on how to install these...
Thanks!!
ps. I honestly think the halo would look better on the original WK(1) because it has those round hood contours which makes it look like it was supposed to be there... Then again on the WK2 we now have projector headlights, so maybe it will work out and look good there as well....

here ya go: http://jeepgarage.org/showthread.php?t=2386&highlight=halo+install
hardest part will be getting the headlights apart. iirc there was a member who tried to open his wk2 headlights but no luck. probably with the same unheatable sealant on most of the 08+ wk1.

Thanks, will check it out!
From what I remember, we used to bake the lights in the oven (lens up) for about 20 minutes on 250F. It worked like a charm and nothing was damaged, but many others weren't as fortunate. Baking plastic headlights in an oven seldom turns out well unless you really know what you're doing... :D

LED's are the way to go.
