I think this is good news either way....even for folks buying now...that means there will be bolt on parts...suspension, brakes, exhaust for modding.

I think Milous mentioned yesterday he had some exciting news for the wk2 and wk2 srt for this span of its life. BUT...if your one of those people that puts off buying what you want...for something that is rumored to happen or is in early stages of development....it will be this was the rest of your life.....LOL.

What I want to know is why make a WK8 track version when they don't even have a Charger track version?? Do they have a Viper track version anymore even? I know Baxter BPG has a SHLOAD of Vipers, mostly tuned to the maxxx, but is there an official track version for anything else, let alone an SRT, let alone an SUV which isn't really all that great for track?? Or do they mean 1/4 mile only edition?? :D

there will also be a challenger and charger version with some of the same componets. This is more of a special edition geared towards more performance. i dont see it hurting the resale of the 2012's at all.

Sounds to me they are making one of those scuderia/superleggera version of the srt8. Pay much more for less equippment. Carbon fiber hard uncomfy recaro seats, no ac, no stereo, no back seat!! Smaller gas tank, plastic windows and nothing electric. This is how it will be......... Unless they got a new monster engine in that heavy beast.

it doesnt take a monster engine to increase hp from 465 to 500+. New cam, ported heads, intake and manifold etc etc. Then throw a little different tuning on it and our looking at 500+ easy.

The Jeep will be driven by a 9 speed ZF tranny

I think it hilarious.... mainly because only 1% of SRT8 Jeep buyers actually take them to a road course. No offense but half of them are sold to posers and they rarely even see WOT. The rest are mostly stop light or straight line racers. Jeep could save thousands by making a drag friendly version that doesn't need big brakes or suspension that can pull nearly 1G.
