They are crazy! It looks like they pass a cop car around the 2 minute mark, but maybe its just a crown vic. I was also thinking they must be getting 8 mpg max at those speeds. I also wish they had some sound!

$20k for their SPONSORS to pay, and a LOT of kickbacks on top of that for them to boot. Not to mention per diems and what not. It's a fun free ride for all the drivers, I'm sure of this...

I seem to remember watching an Bullrun a few years ago when a Koingssegggessegggsee was done for 242mph. I still think it is the fastest speed anyone has been booked for in mainland USA. In NSW Australia anything over 25MPH will earn you an instant loss of license for 1 month, over 30mph 3months+ 1/2 license in points.
You guys have it lucky over there, as our cops are just armed tax collectors looking to increase the public coffers.

I believe it... Also, here in TX if you get caught doing 100+ it is an instant felony... :(

I got caught doing 38 over in NC... Came up to the truck with the gun drawn and the first words out of his mouth were "Give me one reason not to take you to jail!" Very expensive and not a fun experience at all.

Way back in college also in North Carolina, I was going 72 in a 45, and the cop told me that he could arrest me (he didn't). However, it wasn't even a ticket, just a summons to appear in court.

Not really in NC they can ONLY suspend your license for 30 days if you are going 15MPH over only on a 55MPH+ roadway. NC cops are always on a power trip and make their own rules to scare you.

I got really lucky during my stupid teen years.....Got stopped doing 105 in a 55. Was out of the car, standing next to the squad car handcuffed. Sheriff was reaming me a new one when in the distance you faintly heard a couple "pop, pop, pop" 2 seconds later the Sherrifs radio went crazy. He threw me on the hood, took off the cuffs and was gone. I found out later another traffic stop went bad. Sheriff walked up to the car and the guy pulled out a gun and popped off a few rounds. Luckily, no one injured.

I'm not sure how far it was away. I did not follow him to find out and the shots sounded pretty far off. It's kind of scary to think people actually do that kind of crazy, stupid stuff.
