The Jeep was getting dirty and I planned on washing and waxing it this past weekend. So I went out into the garage, happened to glance at the terrible looking "Jeep" lettering that was no missing most of the chrome plating, and decided it was finally time to debadge.

It took me about an hour and all the lettering came off pretty easy, minimal residue to take off after. I then washed and waxed. I am very happy with how the debadging turned out, wasnt sure if it would look to naked or not :D

Taken that night after i finished:

Looks great! So much better than with all the badges.

Any reason you blurred out the plate in some of the pics but not all?

I didnt notice that reflection in the first one, there is nobody in the jeep... maybe the ghost of my wife reminding me of the list of other things she'd rather I do?

Please nobody kill me for this part, but most of the residue did come off with just the heat/scraper. But, I forgot to get something to take off the rest, so I just dabbed a small amount of gas on a rag and wiped it off, and immediately rinsed it with a wet rag. Then I immediately washed and waxed the whole vehicle.

Looks like the pb links finally updated, I blurred them, put the links in here, and when I posted none were blurred.....

Looks great Aaron! I ordered a new 'Jeep' badge for the hood but the rest will remain naked.

The grand cherokee on the front doors and the tailgate are just overkill and look much better naked.

Congrats, and nice wax job too, she's looking sweet! :D

I've done that on all the vehicles I've debadged. It's convenient and has yet to cause me any harm.

Good to know, I figured it wouldn't do any damage since I have had gas splash/spill down the side of cars a few times while refueling and never had a problem with the paint after.

LOL go for it. I have seen others do that to their pics so I figured it wasn't a bad idea, but I doubt its that big a deal if anybody knows my plate number. Not even sure how many other Minnesotans we have on here.
