I have been directed to this wonderful site, thanks to QuickOne.....
I have become a site supporter and
I have placed an order for a 2012 SRT8
I guess all I have to do now is to figure out on how to track my order on this great site
Anyway, I just wanted to say hello and thank QuickOne and all the posters here for the great wealth of information about the SRT8....:arms:......

Thanks guys......
The track car I use for club racing with PCA, and of course it needs a worthy tow vehicle.....;)
The track in the picture is Thunderbolt at NJMP, but we race at Lime Rock,
Watkins Glen, Summit Point, VIR, Mosport etc. etc.
Anyway......
do I need to have the SRT8 be parked in my garage before I can attend the SRT experience
or a vin# will suffice to go test the SRT cars at the track?:D

IIRC you need the VIN and also there's a code on the vehicle "window sticker"...

Excellent, welcome :)
Although, the SRT may not be legally able to tow your race car/trailer/spares etc.... it's a dilemma I'm struggling with myself :(

Track car, aluminum open trailex, 2 sets of extra wheels 4800 lbs, just barely below the 5000 lbs. limit :)
What's your track toy?

Mine is a Nissan Skyline R32.
Car - 2,800
Trailer - 1,350
Tools/spares/etc.... - 600 - 700?
So yeah, about 4,800, same as you :) Getting close though.

Marlin, I am sure 5000 is a conservative number, maybe others can chime in on this.....
BTW, where are the pics of the R32?
Marlin

Conservative no doubt mate, but here in Australia, insurers won't pay out if the worst was to happen if you're deemed over the manufacturer's towing capacity. It happens ALL the time.
And the 32.... http://jeepgarage.org/showthread.php?t=689&highlight=r32

Glad to be of help. That's what's great about the Jeep brand and especially JeepGarage.
Thanks guys......

All you need is your VIN#, but you should 100% wait until they put the new Jeep and 300 in the line up. I think that starts next spring, but not 100% on when they start running the 6.4's in everything.

DID NOT KNOW THIS THANKS FOR POSTING!!! WOW!!
Any more details on this?? Or a specific timeframe?? How long is our VIN good for redeeming this, just the first year of ownership or whenever but only once of course.. ??

It's usually valid for 12 months after receiving your vehicle, but the DriveSRT guys are a little more compliant than that. It is an incredible time and they do an AWESOME job at hosting the event. Don't miss it!
If you're not interested in something like this.....PLEASE PM ME...I'll buy it off of you! ;)

Nice to see a fellow PCA'er sniffin around the Jeep SRT8 - been a fan for years. Had an 06 SRT8 and let go go, now I am ordering, in the spring, question is to wait for the 2014 or?????
Nice track car BTW...as you can see I am partial myself ;-)
