How big of a shot are you planning? Is it a dry or wet kit?
Honestly, you need a nitrous specific tune. If you can't be bothered to spend money on tuning, you shouldn't be running it in the first place.

You need either a B&G flash that has been dyno-tuned or an SCT custom tune, if it's available.
Check your PM's.

I wasn't even close  I'm pretty sure they changed it in the last year or two.
You *SHOULD* also get a wideband to monitor AFR's. I run a AEM UEGO wideband.

What else do you have planned to make 375 to the wheels?!

heads and cam from air ram eventually. thats just a number i was playing with i dont even know what it is to the wheels stock right now.
Scottina06
09-09-2009, 01:13 PM
well....you can take the235 hp stock and subtract 20% drivetrail loss from that on average. Seems like I saw K&N dyno a stock 05 at like 163 at the wheels. So your looking at adding roughly 200 ponies! Not easy bro....or cheap

hmmm looks like im gonna have to pry the ole wallet out a little further. id love to slap an sts turbo kit on it but ive heard some sketchy things about them

What do the srt8's put down stock to the wheels? 380 or something?
Scottina06
09-09-2009, 01:25 PM
no....like 350ish I would guess.....
there is no turbo system currently for the 4.7....but one of our vendors....NCTS...says his system for the 5.7 would be easily converted to the 4.7. I have a vendor coming in that is putting together a 4.7 stroker kit very similar to mine. That may be an option along with the NCTS option to build a monster.....

true there is no bolt on system but they make a universal kit so all you need is a witty fabricator and some aluminum tubing some silicone couplers and you should be good to go
Scottina06

you alos need an engine management system

yes you do i forgot that my bad. i just watched that video of the ncts on the black srt that thing is sick. id be more than happy to donate my ride for a trial and error
Scottina06
09-09-2009, 01:50 PM
LOL....I dont think they want anyone to donate....but pay up front for their work. They know they can do it......

A dry shot is a big issue unless you are tuned for it. If anything goes wrong you'll be literally picking up the pieces. Better to go wet shot or dyno it one step at a time untill you have reached your nerve limit.

I am really interested to hear more on this stroker kit!

09-10-2009, 11:55 AM
well....the 4.7 already has such tight tolerances...its not easy and each part had to be made independently....so it may be awhile as they have other projects going as well. But atleast now they have something to go off of. I had some shops tell me $25k to stroke it.....not true at all.

You can get a controller you can wire in to retard the timing at preset points but that does not introduce more fuel to compensate for the dry shot. SCT would be your best bet to try and run the "JUICE". You could get it tuned on the dyno and have a speciffic tune when you wanna run it and a performance tune just for everyday use. Bad thing is.......... Who knows exactly when you will need to load the nitrous tune.? I am always ready to run whenever someone even squints at me LOL
