Put it this way... I've gotten pulled over a couple times with the lights tinted, not once did a cop say anything about the lights. As long as the red shines at all times, I'm not worried about it. But laws vary by state so do your research..

IMO, that's why nightshading it will probably get you pulled over quicker than having them professionally done. Getting that translucent effect is damn close to art and requires a lot of sanding; mixing; professional time and effort.

It's worth every penny and looks great on the WJ, too. You have that dark blue paint, right? I would go with a medium tint and leave the reverse light untinted.
