Well I figured out (due to the help of fellow forum members) the different possible problems this code (p0868) may entail but this happened to me today when pulling into the garage. I had the windows down and no AC and all of a sudden I hear this wooooooooooooooo sound like the fans kicked in on high. WTF is that about and is my shit about to blow up? lol

That is exactly what happened..The electric fans kicked into high speed.. They change speed at different temperatures..Your truck must have been running alittle hot..

Isn't the Jeep HEMI's hydraulically cooled tho?

yes they are hydaulically cooled. but next time you have nothing to do, go out and turn the a/c on in your jeep then go and stand by the front of the jeep while it idles. the fan(s) will kick in beacuse the jeep is not moving there for there is no air going thru the condenser coil. so the fans start up to move air thru the coil.


anyways joe, try that if it makes the same noise i think your ok. if not...i would have to hear the noise to diagnose it more.

If you turn AC on, that electric fan is only cooling the AC's radiator....its not cooling the engine's radiator...

Actually it does both,the condensor is directly in front of the radiator. It can't affect only one. The reason it comes on automatically is for better efficiency of the a/c system and to help keep the engine cool with the added load of the a/c compressor running.

Ok...if you say so...I've never seen the inside of a WK with a HEMI's engine bay...so I don't know what its set-up like...I'm using my dad's HEMI Ram as my representative...it had the main radiator and tranny cooler in front the clutch fan...and has a seperate radiator to the side with a small electric fan for the AC only....that only comes on when the A/C is on..it doesn't make a wooooooooooooooooooooo sound either...just sound like a normal car electric fan running....
