I think they were offering them at $1,200 or so under MSRP. Not for less than invoice. Just recalling the offer they extended in April on the red site. Have heard that they are excellent to work with.

another forum member was kind enough to help me find a dealer. it was the easiest way of buying a car in my life. i called, asked if they had any SRT8's left for sale, she said yes, i asked if they would entertain invoice price. Her reply was how is $500 over invoice. done deal. shocked!!!! i have been doing it wrong the past few years.

^Figured it was too early to see invoice anything at this point on the 2012? I'd be curious to know what the number is given second sticker and 8/10 msrp pricing?

Zag seems to still show $53k base, or $1,900 below original base, before options or required options.

It all seems a bit of a cluster.

I think QuickOne knows a thing or two about getting a 2012 WK2 SRT8 at invoice......
He is the one who directed me to the right dealer......

People really need to stop with this nonsense. It comes off as nothing more than bitter resentment or dreaming they are going to score one for what they feel they should pay for it.

Jeep will be closely monitoring the sales figures and available inventory, they are not going to make any more than they can sell. I guarantee that 3800 number is a sales goal. They are not going to make a certain amount, regardless, if they do not see them selling, only to have to discount them $10,000!! Come on people, that's nearly 20% of the price  Mass produced cars might get a healthy rebate at end of year, but limited run cars just do not get built. Case in point, the 2010 & 2011 model year Z06. Sales have drastically slipped the past 2 model years, so a whopping 518 were built in 2010, and only 904 were built for 2011. The overwhelming majority of those were ordered sold units. It's amazing that Chevy even continued to make them.

Some people just don't get it. They are only trying to sell somewhere around 3000 units, which is nothing. So at this price that won't be a problem. If they had a goal of 50000 units then they would have to do some discounting. They will be able to sell these 3000 jeeps and get sticker for them. Just like if the goal was 100 units they would probably be able to get 100K for them. Its just very simple supply and demand.

I agree with you. It is starting to get a bit old seeing the whole "I am gonna wait and get 10k off" song and dance. The auto industry is not nearly as frail as the point in time that most of the crazy discounts were available. If they want proof then look at the discounts being offered on the higher volume 2011's like the overland. End of model year clear out isn't what some are portraying it as. Will be good to see some SRT's shipped so we'll have something different to discuss. Maybe then we'll get new owner's impressions on whether or not the new model was worth the price difference.

This same scenario happened to the WK SRT8, which were produced in lower numbers than projected for the WK2. $8-10k discounts were common. Interestingly, towards the end of the 2010 run, prices came sharply back up as the supply was exhausted. Only now, the price is $10k more. The market will not bear this for long.

yes, 4 or 5 years after it was introduced and the fuel prices went sky high.
