So, my '10 SRT already has a bad Catalytic converter and is in the shop getting replaced. So I went to the SM who I have referred a couple SRT orders to and asked if he could hook me up with a ride. He had a couple of SRT Challengers (6.1s) that I tried to get him to give up, but he said, why don't you try the new GC.
So he pulls up in this:

My Son Samuel likes the Pano roof and air suspension. He also thinks it sounds louder than my SRT. Doubtful.

My initial opinion is that is sure is nice. Peppy, but that's about it. Theres a pretty long hesitation from flooring it till it gets up and goes.
It sounds very solid and has a great tight feel to it. Putting a car seat in, it is obvious it's got more room in the back.
I like everything about it, except the power. I'm really going to have trouble not having something with 400+ HP. So I better start saving so I can afford the $70K supercharged SRT8 in 2014. :eek:
Ok...I can do with non supercharged, but need 7 speeds at least and new head unit.

All in all, makes sense why I see TONS of these on the road. Jeep makes a nice SUV for the masses!

Just buy it and have 2 Grand Cherokees, thats what I did. I purchased a 2011 Limited last year, although it looks like you have an Overland there. They are great Jeeps - you won't regret it.

I didn't check the year, but I assume its a 2011. I'll confirm shortly.
It's a Mineral Grey, which is the color I'd choose for the SRT8. It's a nice color in the sun. It looked much more "flat" in the photos I had seen, so that was a plus.
I love the Quadra-lift suspension. Very nice.

In 2014, I may just have to do just that. Keep my SRT8 and buy an Overland. I would be so aggrevated when I parked my $65K jeep and someone in a POS dings it.
I wouldn't feel as bad if it was a 45K Overland.

I was surprised it only had 6 miles on it. When I got my SRT new off the truck it had more miles on it that that.

2011. HEMI. Charcoal grey. Not mineral grey.
Ride is great, but it feels and drives much bigger than the WK.

I would hate to get a overland over a srt-8 but they are really nice looking trucks

I couldn't live with the lack of power. :lol:

I'm going to try to mold this dealer and their service department into what should be expected when you buy their premier line of cars. (SRT)

Since Chryco has deemed SRT a seperate brand, like Lexus, Infinity and Cadillac, then we should expect the perks that come with that.
Since I highly doubt that this will grow to that level, it can work on a lesser level, sort of like what airlines do to their VIP clubs.
Have seperate waiting areas, provide special perks and include a loaner for the day.
It's no skin off their back to let a demo roll out for the day while they are getting the work for any repair.

I'm sure I'm preaching the the choir here, but it's something that needs to change to help foster these new prices and new customer base that they are trying to bring in.

I think it should not only be a separate brand but the dealers who sell and service them should be limited too. There no reason to allow every dealer to have access to them since many of the smaller dealers have no interest in them anyway aside from one or two customers. This should also include a commitment to special treatment of SRT owners.

But, it will never happen.
